Saturday Night
The Party
Julia sat on Darren's lap in the corner, ignoring the loud music and people everywhere. Her head was on his shoulder, and they were both a little out of breath. Her mind, however, was going a mile a minute. Why the fuck was Lauren not at the party? After all, she was, everyone knew, the prettiest and most talented girl in school. Lauren was freaking perfect. And, as always, everyone came second best to Lauren Lopez.
Julia didn't mind that. She couldn't, exactly, and still be friends with her. Lauren was a hell of a lot more than that. The cheer squad knew that. Lauren, Jaime, Britney, Devin, Julia, Sango, Lily, Ali, Alle-Faye, Arielle, Denise, Meredith, Evanna, Elona, Rachael, Alex, Lauren and Jamie. She was forgetting someone. Tiffany! Yes, everyone on the squad wouldn't do anything to Lauren. Darren started gently kissing her neck and she lost her train of thought. Lauren was probably just sick. She'd go round tomorrow with some chocolates or something. Right now, she was busy.
Walker had been staring suspiciously at Julia for the last five minutes, waiting for her to give him a signal that she knew what he knew, but despite her staring right back, he didn't think she'd noticed. She was entirely lost in thought, until Darren's curly head began to move on her neck and she sighed and moved a little out of sight from him. He didn't know whether Lauren had told her, but he did know that he was pissed off. It wasn't his. He wasn't stupid. And when he found out who had fucked his girlfriend he was going to kill them.
Lily was eyeballing Joe. He was pissed off, and he'd only had one beer, so it probably wasn't that he was drunk. He'd been staring at Julia for ages, seemingly without her noticing, and now that she'd returned from her daydream he just looked more annoyed. He got up and walked through to the kitchen, probably to get another beer, and she dropped her head into her arms. Sango stroked up and down her back quietly, very drunk, but cuddly as could be. Sango was great when drunk. Just wanted to have contact, preferably hugging but would settle for just touching someone. Maybe Lily was drunker than she realised, if she was just thinking about how cute Sango Tajima, one of her best friends, was while drunk.
In another corner, someone saw Julia Albain's indecisive, blank face as she daydreamed. They saw Darren Criss's head move and her posture change. They saw Joe Walker stare at Julia as though she had all the answers, and then turn and walk out of the room. They saw Lily Marks looking at Joe, and they saw Sango Tajima stroke her back. They saw this all, and then laughed and went about their business, not knowing that they could provide almost all the answers these people desired.
