Listening to: Breaking free by Troy and Gabriella<3
I have acne. Not to an extreme level, and I probably wont get any scars from it, but I still have acne. The acne is located in my face and on my upper-back, and its actually not something that bothers me too much.
The thing that does bother me though, is when people that dont have acne try to give me advise about how to get rid of it. Heres a coversation I had with a "friend", who doesnt have acne or any pimples of any sort, a few weeks ago:
Me: Yeah it really sucks to have pimples, Im looking foreward to them going away. (I dont remember what I said, but it was something like this)
Her: Yeah, but you can just wash your back when you shower!
I didnt even know how to respond. While this was happening I made a list of possible things that couldve made her say that. It went something like this:
1. Shes really stupid.
2. She lacks in braincells.
3. She wants to be mean.
4. She thinks i dont wash myself.
5. She thinks shes helping. (see number 1 and 2)
Because this is basically saying that I dont wash myself well enough, and the pimples come as a result of me being dirty. For the record Im not. This statement made me dumbfounded and speechless and kinda disapointed to be honest.
Another thing that annoys me when people say is:
Random person: It doesnt matter that you have pimples on your back! No one can even see them!
I know it doesnt matter, and you saying it makes it seem like there is something to be worried about, when there isnt. And the fact that no one sees it doesnt change the fact that its there. Have you ever thought of the fact that it can hurt? Its not just the visual part about acne that makes it suck, you know.
I know most people only say it because they want to help, but please stop. It doesnt help.
Bye
