Katniss Everdeens father did not die in a mine accident, because he was a god. He had 2 children with Katniss's mother, Prim and Katniss. He wanted to stay with his children though he couldnt stay, for he has duties on Olympus. He faked the mune accident though her mother knew exactly what really happened. Since Apollo is the god of healing and archery, each of his daughters got one pf his arttributes. Katniss was able to hunt and was amzing with bows and some arrows. Prim got the arttribute of healing and was outstanding for her age. Apollo was a god of music and poetry which explains why he could sing to Katniss and Katniss could sing well too. Katniss and Prim are demigods.
