About an hour after the incident with Dean destroying your most prized possessions your Uncle Sam enters your room. He gasps, noticing your badly burned hand immediately.

"Y/n, what happened? Are you okay?" He rushed down to your level, but you ignored him, hardly even noticing the burning sensation covering your entire hand. You could here him speaking, but it sounded like you were underwater, still numb with shock over what your over-reactive father done. You didn't register anything until you felt yourself standing up and stumbling out of your room. You looked at your uncle for the first time and notice how lines of worry have etched into his face. Suddenly everything came back into focus as cold water hit your hand.

You yelp and attempt to pull your hand away, but Sam has a firm grip and isn't intent on letting you slip away. Fresh, hot tears slip down your face, this time for the severity of the pain spreading across your hand. Sam turns the water off, pulls a first aid kit out of a drawer and begins taking care of your burn.

"What happened?" Sam sat down on the toilet and took your hand. While he still didn't receive a response, the angry, almost hateful look on your face told him enough. He paused for a moment and wiped some of the tears from your cheek. Sam's height made it easy for him to look you straight in the eye, which he did until you looked at him, "What did Dean do?" He said it more like a statement than a question. In a second your anger sizzled out and another onslaught of tears overcame you. Your uncle sighed and pulled you into a hug, careful to be wary of your hand.

Both of you stayed like that, you soaking up your uncles comfort, while he rubbed soothing circles on your back and played with the end of your hair.  You didn't pull away until you heard a knock on the bathroom door. You looked up at your Dad with a harsh glare that would rival John Winchester.

Sam stood and whispered, "I'll leave you two to work this out. Call me if you need anything."  After you agreed, your uncle left the bathroom and left you and your dad to an incredibly awkward silence.  "Y/n..". You shook your head and pushed passed your father and headed back to your bedroom, where he followed, ready to slam the door in his face when he grabbed your wrist of your good hand.

"Listen, Y/n, baby girl. I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I was just trying to keep my family safe."  You glared at him again, but his grip on your wrist did not loosen. You summoned the most hateful you didn't even know you had, "You destroyed it."  Dean tried to respond but you interrupted him, "The last memories I had of my mother. You burnt them. Because what? I'm growing up and you still think of me as a child?!"

The look of realization on his face said it all. All your anger dissipated once more and tears made their way down your face for the third time that day. Dean sighed and pulled you into a hug. You pushed away reverently, but you were no match for him, so you just stood there and eventually melted into your dad, because he was, well, your dad. You couldn't stay mad at him forever.

He began to speak again, "I am truly so sorry, Y/n. I didn't even realize what I did. You're right, you are growing up and I was too much of a coward to accept it.  You deserve to do what you want to do, and I need to be less demanding on what I want you to do," He kissed your head and then pulled away," I love you so much, Baby."  He bent down a bit so he could make direct eye contact with you. You nodded your head, which he knew was your way of saying "I love you too, Dad."

Abruptly, your dad says, "You know what sounds good right now?" You smile and respond, "Pie."  Your dad figured if he took away what you had left of her, the least he could do is give you a little bit back, so the rest of the night was spent in the kitchen with you and your dad eating pie while talking about your mother and the memories you both made with her.
