I woke up, opening one eye slightly, seeing light streaming onto my face. It wasn't a bad light, just soft and gentle. It was kind of calming.I inhaled and smelled a really nice, familiar smell. I inhaled deeper, and I felt a smile form at the edge of my lips. I didn't know what it was, but the smell was extremely comforting. It smelled like old leather, a sweet kind of spice maybe? And oranges.
Then it hit me. That's what Will smells like.
Wait, where the hell am I?
At that thought, I remembered everything that happened up until the point I'd lost consciousness. That's all I could remember. I fought the strong urge to vomit, and burst out into hysterics.
"You awake sunshine?"
I heard his soft voice, close to my ears. It sent chills down my spine for some reason. That's when I realized I was wrapped in his arms, my back side pressed against his muscular chest. I could feel his heart beating and hear his breathing.
"Yeah, I think so."
I actually wasn't sure. For all I know, I could be dead. I thought about opening my eyes and assessing the situation but the idea of closing my eyes and snuggling against Will (only because he was warm, any other situation I probably would have kicked his ass) also sounded pretty good.
I contemplated for a minute and then opened both my eyes. I saw the soft pastel blue walls, and the window with white lace, flower patterned curtains. I recognized it immediately as my room.
The soft light had been coming through my window, I could see the sun setting through my curtains.
Finally I rolled over, and then winced when I felt a sharp pain in my head. I lifted a hand to where I felt it, resting my fingers on a bandage.
"Hey... be careful. If you touch that it's going to hurt." I could see Will smirking next to me.
"Yeah, I kind of figured that out. Thanks." I sighed.
He laughed his light laugh, I could feel his breath blowing my hair softly.
I rolled over completely now, and stared deep into his ocean eyes.
That's a good pet name. Ocean eyes. I smiled.
"You mind telling me why the hell your in my bed?" My face scrunched up as I tried to think of any reason he would be laying next to me. I wasn't exactly complaining since this kid was like a personal heater.
"What? I wanted to take a nap. I thought since I walked my ass around the woods for about two hours trying to find you, carrying you back to the truck and then taking you to the hospital, taking a quick nap in your bed would be the least you could do." He smiled his cheeky, arrogant smile.
I scowled.
"Thanks for finding me." I heard my voice speak almost silently as I thought of everything that had happened. I prayed silently, hoping he wouldn't ask why I'd ran away.
"You don't need to thank me." He traced a finger softly down my jawline, before he moved it away quickly like he hadn't realized he was doing it. "Besides, without you, who would I have to make me miserable?"
I pushed his chest, not to hard though. I was in to much pain to be my normal, overly violent self. Besides, I could feel his hard muscles tense under my touch and for some reason I couldn't seem to bring myself to actually want to hurt him.
