So so sorry for the late update...
CHAPTER 11
************************************
MATHEW'S P.O.V.
"I'm sorry Hannah." I shrug simply with a plain face. "I just don't have the money to bail you out."
I guess I could make up the money if I wanted to, but I'm secretly happy she's locked up behind bars.
She groans in a high pitch and stomps her foot. Her hands clench the cold metal bars as she stares at me wildly. "Get me out of here now!!!"
"Sir, it's past 8:00. No more visitors." A policeman confronts me.
I nod and start to leave, giving Hannah an apologetic look. She screeches loudly and tells me that they'll come after me for leaving her here. And I know who she's talking about, the Slayers.
**********An Hour Earlier*********
"Just one more shop!" Hannah tells me and clings to my arm as we slide through the crowds. The mall is very busy tonight, and I absolutely do not want to be here.
She leads me into an expensive looking accessory/jewelry store. "Wait here." She whispers, letting her hand slide off my arm as she walks forward.
I look at her in confusion, but stay where I am anyway. Keeping myself entertained, I play with a sunglasses stand. I twirl the display rack around and around. Seeing my reflection in a few of the lenses, I notice I look tired. Sighing, I stuff my hands in my pockets and turn back around.
Hannah is approaching me quickly with a nervous look on her face.
"Aren't you going to buy somethi-" I start to ask but she interrupts me.
"Just walk fast and act normal." She wraps an arm around me and drags me out of the store.
"What's going on-" I begin.
"Just move!" She snaps, then puts on a big, fat smile.
Before we get too far some security guards start to run to us, frantically yelling at us to stop. Thinking we've done nothing wrong, I look around to see if they were talking to someone else. But I only find everyone looking at us with scared, shocked faces.
"Hannah..." I start to accuse.
Did she steal something from that store?
Once the security guards approach us they check Hannah's bag. Surprisingly, they find a big glob of golden jewelry, apparently it's worth a lot of money. I hold my hands up, I was not apart of this...
"We're going to have to take you in miss." A cop pulls out some handcuffs and another one takes the jewelry back to the store. They make sure I had nothing to do with this, thank goodness they believed me. I don't want to go to jail! After asking me a few questions, their suspicion leaves and I feel relieved.
Hannah shoots glares at me.
Oh boy...
They walk her out of the mall, and I have no choice but to follow them. A crowd forms, I try to ignore them. Is this what a fish feels like? Trapped in the watchful gaze of strangers? I cringe under all their stares.
Once out into the cool air, I jog to my car. Pulling a hand through my messy hair, I dig into my pocket to find my keys. Why does Hannah have to be such a handful?
"Mathew do something!" She yells to me from across the street at the top of her lungs.
I act like I don't hear her and slide into my car. After waiting for the cop car to drive away, I follow them. On the road I can just barely see her silhouette in the back seat. Who knew a calm looking girl like her can turn into this angry monster?
