Taylors POV
Sunday went by as fast as it came and before I knew it was Monday already. I left my parents' place yesterday evening, right after my brother and his friends did and returned to the university apartment. I got up from the sofa that I slept on yesterday and walked up the stairs to my room to get dressed. Settling on a black cargo pants and a grey hoodie, I picked up my book bag and walked out of the room.
I walked into the campus cafeteria and sat down at a table, pulling out my phone to read an article about my mothers' pharmaceutical company.
.....'Jordan Pharmaceuticals has set the benchmark this time by being the number one in the state of California and in competition with four other pharmaceutical companies such as Logan&Brighton and Wellington to be the number one in the country. Dr. Emma Brentford-Jordan, the founder of the company has-'
"Hey there" interrupted. I looked up and she smiled.
"I'm sorry to disturb whatever it is that you're reading but what can I get you?" She smiled widely. "Oh yeah uhm coffee please. Black, no sugar" I returned the gesture. She wrote it down on her writing pad and smiled, walking away.
A group of girls walked in and occupied two tables opposite mine. I looked up and crossed eyes with a couple of them who either winked, smirked, threw flirtatious glances at me or sat in a way that I could easily see whatever that was under those skirts.
"Heyy Tayylorrr" a girl about 5'9 called my way. I noticed they were all in short white skirts and wearing a crop top or hoodies, t-shirts with Greek letters.
"Hey there. You are?" I winked, giving her my full attention. "Lucy", "Cute name" she bit her bottom lip, twirling a strand of her hair. I spotted the waitress carrying my order towards me."Here you go. Coffee. Black. No sugar" the waitress smiled and placed the cup on the table. "Thank you." she brushed a lock behind her ear and smiled shyly. A hint of red on her cheeks.
"You're welcome, Taylor" I looked up. "I didn't catch your name there",
"Mandy Newton. And I'm guessing that you're trying to think of where you saw me and that?" She asked to which I nodded and squinted at her. She giggled a bit. "Professor James asked you a question, Philosophy class and I helped answered it?." Ah. I smiled at her, nodding my head slightly.
"Anyways I have to round up the other table on the far end." With that she walked away."Ehem" someone cleared their throat. Looking their way, the sorority girl smirked, leaning way over that her cleavage was showing.
"You were saying?" I tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"Theta Epsilons' party is tonight. What do you say we hang out together?" A sly smirk came upon her face. "Wow. Uhh listen..Lucy right? I would very much love to hang out with you but I'm pretty tied up with-",
"Ugh you're boring" she rolled her eyes, interrupting me and walked away. Well that was fucking rude.
