I pause to look at AJ. "Ellie..." she whispers before she faints. I catch her before she falls to the hard, dirt floor. Not exactly knowing what to do I walk to my room and place her on my bed.

I grab her blankets from last night and place them over her cold body. Then I get to work making a breakfast for her when she wakes. I crack eggs into a little bowl and add cinnamon and a little cows milk as I stir.

Then I pull out some bread and dip it in, cover it then set it upon the skillet. I, hesitantly, cook French toast for ages. Then I get to thinking, where did that come from? I don't know a person who's named French... so it must be... a language? It sounds like it should? Shouldn't it?

I sigh out loud.

Wyatt

Ellie lays on my bed, tucked under my arm. Our bare bodies pressed together. "Where are you from?" I ask her. "Maple Wood, but I don't want my parents to be shocked about my eyes." She says calmly, quietly.

"Oh..." I say, silence leaves a hole after my word. "Wyatt..." she says, twisting in the bed so her face presses against my chest. "What?" I ask. "Do you think we could be a thing?" I look down at the girl who was so hard and emotionless yesterday night.

"I suppose..." I Whisper. "Promise me something.." she says so quietly I have to strain to hear. When I don't reply she goes on, "promise you won't let anybody kill me..."

"What!?" I sit upright so fast in the bed that Ellie falls to the floor. "Ouch..." she mutters, standing up and covering her body with a blanket. "What do you mean, 'let somebody kill you'!?" I ask.

"I had a dream. All the queens before me, they have been murdered by their closest friends." She says simply, laying back down beside me. "Their closest friends?" I ask.

"Yes, dragon trainers are always chose in pairs of friends, that means AJ will have to kill me." Her voice is playful, child-like. "Why are you so damn happy!?" I exclaim. She bits her lips and plays with her hands.

"What are you not telling me?" I ask. "Nothing... but... oh!" She suddenly exclaims, "I'm very hungry!" I sigh and climb from bed and pull on my underwear and shorts, leaving my shirt on the floor.

Ellie sits calmly on the bed waiting for me to get her food. I hand her a piece of bread and a glass of milk as she greedily gulps the milk down. Then she stuffs down the bread and asks for more.

Ellie

My appetite is wild and crazy in the morning, I feel weird, light, and fuzzy on the inside. I'm too happy to act rude and emotionless. Especially after that dream, it makes me shiver to think about it.

AJ must kill me, my "evil" is to intense. I don't feel evil nor sad/mad. I feel normal... especially after last night... that was the best time of my life!

Except... maybe that burning part in my lower stomach, that kinda hurt. But apart from that.... it was amazing! I smile as Wyatt hands me another piece of bread which I stuff down my mouth.

"Are you usually this hungry?" He asks after I have chewed and swallowed. "No, never." I say as he hands me another.

"Hmmm, weird..." he says, ten turns towards me. "Do we have to go somewhere today?" He asks. "Uh, no?" Its more of a question. Wyatt squints at me in disbelief.

"Okay, so I don't know... but... maybe we should return to the dragon den my Castlegrove." I say. He nods. "Might as well." Is his simple answer before he starts pulling bags out from under his bed.

"I'm gonna pack some water and such." Then he fills two dead skins with water and packs them, then throws ten granola bars in and zips them up. He hands one to me as we slowly leave the shack.

Wyatt

Bubbly Ellie sits in front of me on her dragon, Fòtia. The animal flies gracefully and evenly. Bang! A gun shot calls out, Fòtia screeches and suddenly the air of us falling flies my hair back.

"Ahhhh!" Ellie's high pitched scream calls out, causing me to wrap my arms around her. Fòtia hits the trees with a shriek, Ellie is thrown off, I reach out but I can't get to her before she disappears into the underbrush.

Fòtia rescues herself and lands in a clearing, I quickly jump off and run towards the way we came. Ellie rests against a tree, her face all scratches and bruised. "Ellie, we have to get you to a doctor!" I say urgently helping her up.

"What is closer?" I ask Fòtia once we emerge. "Castlegrove, only a minutes walk.." Ellie translates in her quiet, out of breath voice. I sigh and pull her up onto my shoulders as I walk towards the noise. Ellie's feet drag on the ground.

I walk through the market until I stop and turn to a man standing behind his booth. "Where is the best doctor?" I ask, motioning to the limp girl on my back. His face fades from a warm smile to a hard expression.

"Kira! Take over the booth," then to me, "here, I'll take you." He comes out from behind then starts jogging through the crowd, down a street and into an alley. He pauses before I door and knocks once. A young man with black hair and short stubble answers.

"Brock, these people need your help!" The Brock man quickly opens the door and ushers us in. He leads me into the living room and tells me to lay Ellie down on the floor. A girl sits in his rocking chair eating French toast. She stares at Ellie.

"AJ? Do you feel well enough to help?" The girl snaps out of her daze and nods silently. "Can you wet this cloth?" He hands her it and she rushes away to wet it. The girl with straight, brown, almost black hair and I childish face comes back quickly and lays the cloth against Ellie's forehead.

The girl, AJ, is right in there, cleaning Ellie's cuts. Then in one quick movement, Ellie's eyes open to see AJ's face hard at work. Wait... AJ... that name sounds familiar.

Ellie reached her hand up to AJ's face... thwack! She slaps the girl hard, she whimpers and crawls backward. Ellie pushes against Brock's restraints until she breaks free. She jumps up and attacks the girl in the corner.

AJ lets out a blood curdling scream as Ellie tried to claw out her eyes.
