The firemen came into the classroom and grabbed ahold of me. When we exited the building everyone turned and looked at me as I entered the ambulance. The firemen that carried me out jumped into the ambulance and closed the door shut. They started the sirens and drove very quickly to the hospital. They were hooking millions of things up to me. Making sure that I was all right. I’m fine stop! I wanted to say, but I couldn’t get the words out. I choked.
A few minutes later I woke up in a hospital room. I wasn’t quite sure what had happened but I was positive it had to do with the fire. I couldn’t really hear the doctors talking but they were talking to my mom. Something about me getting burned. I got burned? Where! I don’t remember getting burned. The only thing that I remember is a force field around me then seeing my teachers body melt right in front of me.
“Stacey are you awake?” I asked.
There was no answer. She must be asleep then. I wonder if she feels any pain. Her being in that fire and all. The firemen said that when they walked into the room there was a big white light like something had happened. The doctor was standing in the room examining Stacey. She seemed so peaceful, just lying there.
“She hasn’t woken up yet Dr. Hortman. You said she should be awake by the time I got here,” I said.
“I am dearly sorry Ms. Jerkins, but I am afraid that she will have to stay the night. We are not quite sure what is wrong with her, but something dreadful is wrong with her. I had the nurse take a blood sample. You did say that she was pregnant correct?” Dr. Hortman asked.
“Yes I did, she is three months pregnant, as you could tell. Why do you ask?”
“Well, sometimes if newly mothers are exposed to such a rush and heat they will sometimes black out or it could cause the fetus to not develop correctly.”
“Oh my gosh! I hope my little girl is all right! Do you think that it caused Stacey’s baby to not develop correctly?”
“I am not sure, I made a doctor’s appointment with your Stacey’s doctor earlier when she got to the hospital. I asked her if she was on anything and to tell me what happened,” He said.
“Well, what did she tell you?” I demanded.
“It’s a very long story ma’am. If you would like to know though, I wouldn’t want to tell you here. She may wake up and get furious because she did tell me not to tell anyone.”
“Why would she say that?” I asked.
“Not sure, anyway when we were in the ambulance I asked her if she had taken any drugs. She told me no that she wasn’t on anything because she was three months pregnant. I asked her to tell me how the fire started because many of the students in the classroom said it was because she threw a piece of paper into the trashcan and it lit on fire. She said that her teacher melted in front of her and that she didn’t get burned the entire time that she was in there. I asked her how that could be and she told me that there was like a force field around her. She started talking about demons and everything, I wasn’t sure why she mentioned them but she did.”
“Anything else?” I asked.
“Yes, she also said something about Kayden and lighting.”
“Kayden?” I questioned.
“Yes Kayden, I am not quite sure who he is, but another name was mentioned, something like Jake,” He said.
“Oh, Jake Collins, he is the man that got my daughter pregnant and his best friend is Kayden. Why would she say something about him and lighting?”
