I'd like to personally thank @MinaSarameee for being an AMAZING person throughout the planning process of this book to the part of actually publishing the first few chapters! She read EVERY SINGLE WORD AND PUNCTUATION MARK and managed to stay sane. After all, who's completely sane anyways?
Oh, and I'm so sorry for not publishing a week ago. I'll list all my reasons below:)
- Wi-Fi not working for the longest time imaginable
- My Wattpad updates kept getting erased
- I wasn't home most of the time (it's the Summer after all, guys:)
- PROCASTINATION
Anyways, Happy Reading Guys!
"Are you sure she's going to be okay?"
"Don't you worry, Mrs. Lewis, she only fainted and she was lucky to have someone catch her."
"Again, are you sure? This is my only daughter we're talking about."
"Yes, yes, I am sure. I'll prescribe Kylenna some sleeping pills if you find she can't sleep at night."
"Yes, yes, thank you."
The doctor leaves and I finally get the chance to get up.
"Ugghhh...."
I feel terrible. Absolutely and definitely terrible. And not just because of my blackout. I honestly couldn't believe it. My cousin had died. No, had been murdered. By who, I don't know. I wish I did. I had to know.
"Kylenna! You're awake!" My mom yelled.
"Y-yes, mom, I'm awake. As you can see...." I sarcastically replied though my mom wasn't very impressed.
"Kylenna! Don't you dare try to get up! You already went through enough!" She yells.
Great. I have to reminded by that. You know what, I'll take this chance to find out who the murderer is. If they even found out yet.
"Ok, ok... Mom? Can I ask you something?" I say.
"Sure, honey." She replies.
"L-luke was m-murdered right?" My voice cracks and tears threaten to spill. Luke is gone. The realization hits me like a brick. He was gone. No words said can reverse his fate. He was completely gone and I couldn't do anything about it; undo it, help... Nothing!
My mom looks at me with pity since she wasn't particularly close with Luke. Lukeiam and I were the closest of all our cousins. Since I was the only child, and he was too, it was kind of like an unbreakable bond. Being cousins kind of made up for the no siblings part.
"Yes, honey. And yes, I know you're going to ask me who did it, but I don't know. Maybe," My mom continued on. "You will find out since they're going to question you." She finished. It's like she read my mind. I slowly sat up in bed and grabbed the glass of water on my table while I asked another question.
"What? Why do they need me? I don't even know what happened! My lord, I found out the same time everyone else did!" I lost my control and couldn't hold my anger anymore. Someone took my Liam away and I was going to find out who did. No one gets away with this and I mean no one.
