IF ONLY WE CARED

So many cries, so many pleas
So many tears, but nobody sees
Nobody cares, everyone lies
All these things, just a part of life
So many in need, so many to feed
So many with no hands or feet
Nobody sees, they turn away
To face their life filled with comfort and play
There are those who can't even see
There are those who can't even feel
There are those who can't even speak
And there's nobody to answer their unspoken pleas
So many who suffer, through day and night
So many who don't see a day filled with light
So many who die because nobody cares
So many who pray to see a better day
So many prayers, so many wishes
All left unanswered, all turn to ashes
They give up hope, they give up trying
They Give up wishing, and resort to dying
Nobody to pick them up when they fall
Nobody to answer when they call
Nobody who's there when they cry
Nobody who cares if they said goodbye
So many out there, with no one to whisper them a goodnight
Nobody to tell them, I'll be there through all your strifes
They face the world, the hardships alone
Nobody to run to in this cruel world
And while we sit and while away our time
All we're really living is a lie
What's true and what's real
Is out there and surreal
Behind the scenes, in the streets
Out in the dark, and nobody sees
Nobody cares, so many die
But if they did, so many would survive
Their eyes would shine with tears of joy
Their smiles would lighten up the skies
It's sad that there aren't many who care
Because if they did the world would be such a beautiful place.
