After the confrontation with my dad I left the motel early. Careful to not let anyone see the tears in my eyes or the hand print on my face. I reached the diner a quarter till seven. I thought for sure Dean would be late, but boy was I wrong.

The diner was retro themed with the light blue and white tiled floors, the glowing jukebox in the corner, and the old style leather booths. In the far corner there was one of the huge booths made to fit the groups of kids before or after a party. When I walk in one of the waitresses skates up to me,

"You must be Dani." she pauses I nod "You're boyfriend has been here for an hour, just talking to himself. You are a lucky girl" she looks over at Dean in the corner. She quickly skates away.

"He's not... not as far as I know anyway." I whisper on my way to him.

"Is this seat taken?" I stand at the end of the table.

"Well I was waiting for someone but I could make an exception for you." Dean stands and helps me sit across from him at the table.

"I didn't know you were a romantic." I lean toward Dean.

"What makes you think I'm a romantic?" Dean smirks.

"Well from what I've heard you've been here for an hour talking to yourself, and I'm guessing you were rehearsing what you were gonna say." I grab one of Dean's hands and hold it in the middle of the table.

"God Damn you Dani you see right through me." Dean smiles. "Okay, so... I don't want to be a bother but-"

"I'll go to prom with you Dean." Dean looks at me wide eyed.

"Really?"

"Of course." I smile.

we spent hours sitting in that booth talking over burgers and milkshakes. Dean even had room for pie. Eventually the waitresses had to kick us out because the diner was closing. Dean and I walked around town just getting to know each other. It wasn't until my phone rang that we stopped walking.

"Shit.." I breathed before picking up.

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" I heard a voice yell through the phone. Lucky for me it wasn't dad, it was the youngest brother Joshua.

"Josh, is everything okay?" I ask turning away from Dean who looks as scared as i feel.

"Yes, dad is passed out at the Winchester's motel across town. This hunt will be harder then they believed so dad got a room. I asked to go back to the room to get more supplies, that's when I noticed you weren't there."

"Josh breathe." I tried to calm him through the phone. Josh and I were the closest out of my family. The only brother who didn't believe I was the scum of the earth like my father tried to convince everyone. Jax and Jeremiah would never look at me as anything more than a burden, but Josh...Josh cared, more than he could usually show.

"I'm good." He paused, I could hear him taking deep breathes. "Be back soon, you know how dad gets." I nodded even though I knew Josh couldn't see me nodding.

"I will." Josh hangs up and I look at Dean.

"I have the motel room to myself." Dean walks with me back to the motel and we curl up on the couch watching crappy TV, until I fell asleep.
