------------------------------------
It was one of those days where the sun was trying its hardest to come out from behind the clouds, leaving the world in this state of unknown weather. Was it going to rain, was it going to be sunny? Cold....hot? No one really knew, and quite frankly it didn't seem to matter to most.
In the full cafeteria of the highschool, most of the girls were dressed in skirts and shorts, with a light jacket over some nice shirt they were wearing. The guys were in shorts or jeans, a nice T-shirt or sleeveless shirt with a jacket on....some even without. Hikarito, who sat at a table with his group of friends had on a pair of faded blue jeans, a grey and white splattered tank top with a white T-shirt over top. His gaze was stuck on a short blonde sitting across the cafeteria with his own friends. He was dressed in a simple pair of jeans, a white T-shirt and a black jacket that was zipped up. For the past couple of minutes now, Hikarito had been watching the blonde, something seeming off with the usually bubbly male. Something that caused worry to bubble up within Hikarito himself.
The blonde was Noah, a fellow vocalist like himself, the two having sung together during multiple school programs but never having really talked to one another. Not that it stopped Hikarito from caring for the smaller male. It was weird how much he cared for someone that he knew so little about. Cared for someone he hardly spent time with, if at all outside of school. And even now, as he watched Noah from across the room, his worry only continued to intensify realizing that Noah was becoming more and more upset as he tried to speak to his friends.
"NOBODY CARES!"
The words echoed around the cafeteria, silencing everyone who was talking. The sound of his hands slamming on the table and his chair being pushed back radiated around causing other students to just stare in shock, surprise and curiosity.
Hikarito sat in curiosity and worry, wondering what had upset the male. His eyes only following after Noah as he ran from his group of friends and into the nearest men's bathroom. Whispers erupted throughout the room, even amongst his own friends. Hikarito's gaze wandered to each and every student wondering what could be so interesting about someone being upset. He didn't find anything interesting about it, in fact, he found it quite worrisome.
"I'll be right back."
Hikarito muttered to his friends, giving them no time to question where he was going.
He made his way to the bathroom and slowly pushed open the door. The sound of someone sobbing hysterically took up the silence of the bathroom. It made his heart ache for the young vocalist.
Hikarito walked from stall to stall till he came to the handicapped one and stopped. He didn't dare try the door knowing that Noah probably already locked himself in. He sighed and turned his back, leaning against the door a bit and glanced down. Tapping his knuckles on the door ever so slightly.
"Hey. . ."
A surprised gasp came from Noah as his head snapped up as wide eyes locked on the door in front of him. Tears staining his face as they fell from his eyes.
"You okay in there?"
Hikarito waited for a moment, but when no answer came, he lifted his head and stared at the mirror.
"You know. . .you sit there and say that nobody cares about you, but I don't really understand where you're coming from with that. I don't see where I became nobody. I mean. . .in my eyes I'm somebody. In my eyes I'm somebody important, and my opinion matters. But I am pretty stupid. . .but I'm definitely not nobody."
Noah sniffled and shifted in his spot.
"You're not. . ."
"No, let me finish."
Hikarito cut Noah off and let out a heavy sigh.
"So, when you say nobody cares. . .that hurts. Cause, I don't see how you can say that when there's someone fighting for you. . .every day. . .right in front of you. . .because they care about you. So if you can't hear me when I tell you that you matter, maybe now you will hear me."
Hikarito turned and slammed the side of his fist onto the bathroom door causing Noah to jump, more tears trailing down the smaller males face.
"I am not no one, so do NOT say nobody cares, because I care for you and I will fight for you everyday! I think about you everyday, I wonder how you're doing because I can't be there with you all the time! But that doesn't mean I'm nobody! Cause I care. . .I really care. . ."
Hikarito grew quiet, standing there with his forehead pressed to the stall door. It seemed as if Noah had grown quiet as well. The words just spoken stunning the short haired male into silence. His face was red from the tears he had been crying, but also from the slight blush that now added to that coloring. His eyes were red and puffy, his nose running from crying. The tissue he held soaked from his tears, but now. . .now he was confused and shocked all in one.
"Please Noah. . .please come out of there. Just talk to me. . ."
Hikarito waited for a few seconds and let out a sigh before pushing away from the stall door and turning. He took two steps before hearing the clicking of the stall doors lock. His gaze drifting over his shoulder as the door opened, revealing Noah, who looked like a complete mess to him. The smaller male's eyes drifting up to meet Hikarito's.
"D. . .did you really mean what you said?"
Giving a smile, Hikarito nodded.
"I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it."
Offering an outstretched arm, Hikarito waited for Noah to come on over. When he did, he draped his arm around the smaller males shoulders and looked down upon him.
"So, what do you say we walk around a moment while we have the chance and you tell me what's wrong. I'm listening. . ."
The two walked to the door, stepping out of the bathroom and back into the cafeteria. The two not staying long as they made their exit into the hallway.
"How do I know. . .you're not just going to ignore me after this?"
Hikarito stared at Noah for a good two seconds, but a smile spread upon his face as he shook his head.
"I won't. . .and you know why?"
Noah gave a quick shake of his head, Hikarito giving a quick response.
"Because I care."
With that said, the two walked out onto the school grounds, sitting in the grass. Hikarito listening to Noah as he spilled his heart out, telling all his troubles to the taller male. Never once being ignored or criticized for any of it, reassuring to himself that someone cared enough to listen when no one else would.
