Before you embark on this adventure into the world of Pocket Dragons, there are some things that you must know.

The pocket dragons are quite interesting creatures. They've been around for thousands of years and will likely be here for thousands more. They sleep on the windowsills and roam the cobblestone streets. They perch on the rooftops alongside the sparrows and glare down at the humans introspectively. Some raid castles and escape with the load of a single coin or amulet. Some stow away on boats and wagons and others simply decide to swim and fly. There are pocket dragons that lounge in ice cream parlors and dragons that fly free in forests. In some places they are respected like kings and worshipped like gods, where in others they are chased out like pests or hunted like rodents. Whimsical doctors believe their blood is a miracle cure while wise men see that some heal on their own accord. But the most important thing to know about them is; they are never more than the size of a house sparrow.

They come in all shapes and colors as one may imagine dragons would. Desert pocket dragons sleep beneath warm sands like crocodiles in rivers. Jungle pocket dragons of vibrant colors glide between tall trees and nest inside large flowers. Royal pocket dragons perch on the shoulders of Queens and Kings, and Arctic Pocket dragons help warm up Eskimos in their Yurts. In France, pocket dragons perch atop the Eiffel tower, while pocket dragons in New York do similar to the Empire State Building.

It may seem obvious enough to you why they are called pocket dragons. Yes, they are in fact, quite petit. Though they have also earned the name from their infamous tendency to travel in the pockets of unsuspecting travelers. For how else are they supposed to travel from New York to London without the generally overpriced airline tickets?

But in a world where dragons are as common as housemice, it is the unfortunate truth that many are treated as such. Some pet shops find it acceptable to sell dragons beside the geckos and snakes as if the dragons were as sentient as the lizards. But the dragons are actually quite smart, many speak the human tongue and are as educated as a typical human, though some decide to keep to their cultures and refer to the humans as the pests.

The last thing you must know about pocket dragons is that each is magical: the only magical creatures on Earth, in fact. Some breath fire as typical dragons might, others bend elements to their will or have powers entirely unimaginable- until you witness it, that is.

So without further ado, welcome to the world of Pocket Dragons.
