I open the doors with both hands. A little dramatic, I know, but I'm hungry and extremely relieved that Taehyung didn't hurt me. I also hope that Jungkook won't want me to owe him any money from getting Taehyung away.
It's still pretty quiet in the cafeteria, but I ignore this and walk towards the usual table that Jisu and a few other friends of mine sit at.
As soon as I sit down, everyone resumes their normal conversations, but I can still feel some of their gazes on me. Suddenly, my whole table bombards me with a hoard of questions.
"Are you alright?"
"Did they hurt you?"
"What did they say?"
"You must feel terrible"
"I'm so sorry we didn't come to help!"
"Don't worry about whatever they said because-"
"GUYS!", I throw my arms up and hit them on the table, causing all of them to jump in surprise. Jisu gasps and squeaks in terror.
"I only talked to Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung!", I say in exasperation. "I wasn't visited by Count Dracula or a zombie", I sit back down and roll my eyes.
Jisu pipes up. "I'm so sorry I ran away but...", she looks around nervously, despite the fact that Taehyung is in Mr Hyo's office, "...Taehyung is scary"
I smile at her to let her know that I'm not mad at her.
"Has anyone got any leftover food?", I ask. "My bag is still in Mrs Park's classroom and I think she's in the staffroom now so it'll probably be locked", I explain.
"You were lucky that they talked to you", one of my friends says, referring to when Taehyung and Jungkook talked to me outside the cafeteria. "Jungkook looks really good in his uniform today"
"Like any other day", I laugh, accepting a sandwich that Jisu has offered.
My table becomes quiet for a few moments. I'm glad the other tables didn't hear me because I'm only known for fighting with Jungkook, and I really don't want to be known for complimenting him.
One of my friends laugh and covers her mouth, beaming. "Did you just-"
"Eunha!", I shush her. "I didn't, and can we please talk about something else?", I groan.
I spend 30 minutes in the detention room with him and I say he looks good in his uniform? Jeon Jungkook, please stay out of my mind before you cause any more trouble.
"Okay", another friend says as she giggles, "We can talk about how you got fired from being class captain and that you got 54% for your mathematics assessment"
As if life was bad enough.
Jisu gasps and squeezes her orange juice so much that it begins to spill. "You got 54% for your mathematics assessment? Mijin!!"
I dig my face in my hands as one of my friends pat me on the back. "Yes. My parents are going to die of disappointment, and they'll probably tell all my cousins, second cousins, aunts, uncles-"
"Don't worry", Eunha interrupts as she shrugs. "What's the worse that can happen?"
Most of my friends don't understand when I freak out about my parents. My dad is a neurological surgeon, and my mum is a lawyer. They expect me to be the same. Not exactly like them, but something similar.
Which is why 54% and being a class-captain-less student is going to put me in a bad place with them. Heck, they might even pay for a mathematics private tutor to come to our house. If that happens, I swear I'll scorn Jungkook for the rest of eternity.
