We're on the way to the airport. Everybody is sad. I used to think I would be the saddest person with Taz leaving but Michael genuinely looks upset. His eyes are a bit puffy and red but everybody pretends not to notice. I've been crying a bit. I don't want to loose her again.
"I'm gonna miss you," Taz says. We offered to take her family to the airport. But then we realised we'd need a big car. So we're now speeding down the motorway in our tour bus which we stole from the Capitol Records studios.
"I think you should slow down," Taz's mom, Toni, tells us.
"We're only 20 mph over the speed limit," I retort.
"We're going 110 mph," Calum screams. "We should slow down."
Being the oldest, I'm at the wheel. Taz is next to me and the others are in the back. I turn on some music and Blink 182 starts playing. I'm sing my heart out to the lyrics before I hear Calum scream. I turn around to find him and Luke fighting over the last bottle of KA.
"LUKE!' I hear Cal shout over the music. "I PUT DIBS ON IT!"
Luke just looks like a stripper; he keeps running around the bus while taking large sips of it dramatically. Suddenly, he spits it out, coughing soon after that. The bottle falls to the floor, spraying everyone before he continues coughing. He pulls out a bottle of water, sipping it fastly.
"Never drink KA that fast..." he says, walking over to his seat.
"ASHTON WATCH OUT!" I hear Toni, Taz's mom scream. My attention is quickly turned to the road. I see a 10 ton truck coming towards us at 100 MPH.
Now I'm worried. I try to break but the stupid bottles jammed underneath the pedal. I quickly swerve the bus but so the the truck.
BANG.
The airbags cushions the impact a little but nobody else has one. In a few minutes of shock, nobody talks.
"Guys?" Michael's voice comes from out the back. "Are we all ok?"
Then I hear Taz scream. I look around. Luke's lying on the floor, blood flowing quickly out his head.
"SOMEONE GIVE HIM CPR!" I yell. I try to put pressure on the wound but it only succeeds in my hands and clothes being stained in blood.
Michael is on top of Luke, humming the staying alive tune. I don't think he's doing it right though, as Luke looks in even more pain.
The truck driver storms into our bus.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE PLAYING AT? YOU COULD'VE SERIOUSLY KILLED SOMEONE! HAVEN'T YOU NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE ELSE?'
"Listen here you stupid fat old man!" I snap at him. "No one really cares about what you have to say because my friend is seriously injured and all you care about is your crappy old truck. So do us all a favour and GO DIE IN A HOLE!"
Maybe that was a bit harsh but I don't care. You don't start shouting at someone when their friend has a possibility of dying.
The ambulance crew walk onto the bus, while the truck driver is being interview by the police. I feel awful. I don't even know if Luke is going to be ok. Calum goes in the ambulance with him while we're all being interviewed. They take us all down to the station. Taz complains that her wrist feels broken but nobody actually does anything, we're all just too bothered about Luke
They put us into cells where we spend the night wrapped in thin covers and lying on hard concrete floors.
Absolutely great.
