Fallen

Chapter 3

"What kind of offer?" Fallen asked confused as he stared over at him, suspision clear in her features. Laken rolled his eyes at her obvious suspision.

"You stay here, and I shall protect you,"he said as if it was the obvious answer.

Fallen had actually found herself contemplating it. She thought of the benefits, the consequences, but most of all,the safety. She was in their territory, she was lucky he didn't kill her. And if he was as strong as he appeared to be,he could help her train to become stronger. Either that or he could help and find someone that he could trust to protect her.

She groaned out loud; She couldn't believe she was about to accept this offer...but right after a few questions.

"What do you want in return? What's the catch?" She asked.

"I don't know really. What're you willing to offer?" Laken replied, frowning slightly. He only just then realized how suspicious he sounded. Offering to protect her but not asking for anything in return. He didn't have any bad intentions really; He needed her to understand that.

Thinking of the first thing that came o mind,he quickly blurted out,"Help me with my hunts."

Fallen thought about it. He did say he needed souls, and there's no telling how badly he hunts if he really asked her for help. But then she thought about the way he hunted. When he tried to seduce her earlier into having sex with him so he could drink her life source and blood.

Not a very good way to hunt,Fallen thought. So she chose to ask,"Is the incident of what happened earlier,an example of how you regularly hunt? Or was that a one time thing?"

Laken looked down in embarassment. He scratched the back of his neck, and chuckled nervously."Uh yeah. That's how I usually hunt."

Fallen rolled her eyes."Explain what you do in the situation. Forget to mention the part where you practically rape them."

Laken, too, rolled his eyes and sighed."I go to some type of public place, find a slutty girl. Drag her away from the public, then drain her source."

"So you don't do...anything...to them?" Fallen asked confused. Certainly didn't seem like the same case with her.

He scratched the back of his neck again."That's,ah,that's only if I'm sexually frustrated."

"Men,"Fallen muttered glaring. Thinking it over, she did need protection...She sighed, giving into her internal battle."I accept your offer. But if you so much as threaten me—,"Laken cut her off with a gesture of surrendering.

"I won't,I swear,"he ran a hand through his hair and sighed."So how do you hunt?"

Fallen blushed slightly."I don't."

"Huh?"Laken was awestruck. A creature as powerful as her didn't hunt? "You really don't hunt?"

Fallen nodded a sheepish smile on her face."I did once but it didn't quite work out,"Fallen ended lamely, not wanting to continue the conversation or relive that oh so embarassment moment of hunting.

Laken noticed this and knew not to push her,no matter how much he wanted to know."What was your method? Did you just drag him away or did you use seduction?"

Fallen blushed at the thought of seduction. She had never tried it before and here she is,22 years old,and still acting all shy about the topic, like a child."I used the first choice, but—in a different sense. I've never tried seduction."
