Food.
You could probably argue that it is the best thing in the world. It's kind of like music in a sense. A language that doesn't need words and can be shared with people all over the world.
And that language is how you met Kim Seokjin.
You were currently on a trip to South Korea since its where your mother is from. You were 22 years old, a YouTube dancer slowly growing in fame and an instagram food artist travelling the world for the best dishes you could eat. Your mother was taking you and your grandparents on a trip across Korea and you were beginning this journey in Seoul.
"Y/n-ah come over here and look at this," your Grandmother called in Korean from a small street stand that held lots of different dishes. You can speak Korean since your mother taught you.
You hopped over to your grandmother and placed your chin on her shoulder to look at the sizzling street food. The sight of the meat made your mouth water.
"Aaah.... it looks so good," you say as you pull out your phone to take a picture for instagram. You quickly took a picture and the elderly women you were leaning on pulled out her purse.
As you were beginning to edit the picture and crop it to size you felt a tap on your shoulder. You looked up to see your grandmother holding three kebab sticks with meat filling up the entire space of the stick. Your face lit up with joy and you put your phone in your bag and thanked her as you grabbed two of the sticks.
"Let's go and sit over there, my legs are aching and we can wait for your mother and grandfather there," she said giving you a closed eye smile as you nodded a reply, returning the smile.
You walked over to the benches that were by the riverfront of the Han river and helped her sit down before you sat down too. You quickly pulled out your phone to take a picture of them as you held them in one hand, making sure you got the river in the background as the city lights shone off the surface.
Satisfied with the picture you began to nom down on one of the meat sticks. The meat pulled easily off the stick and fell to pieces in your mouth. The sauce that covered the meat complimented the meat so nicely that you wanted the taste to last forever. But it wouldn't last forever as you had already finished the one stick and were sucking the remaining meat off the wooden stick.
You gave yourself a rest between the two of them and decided you would post the pictures on your social media along with the caption, 'Fuck this! It's official! I'm in love with Korean street food 🥘 I wish I could eat this everyday!' And posted the pictures.
Though as you were typing you started to get the feeling of some one watching you. You looked up and looked around until your eyes landed on the man who sat next to you. He wore a black puffer jacket, a baseball cap and a white face mask. His gaze was on the meat skewer so, being you, you held it out for him to take.
Though you would of loved to have another one, you pulled yourself into giving it to him. The man looked up at you as if asking if you were sure to which you nodded with a smile. He hesitantly took it and looked at it as if it was the most amazing thing in the world.
He pulled down his face mask and began to eat the food to which he melted. The look on his face was of pure food bliss which caused you to smile. You watched as he quickly finished off the treat with a smile.
"Thank you," he said as you passed him a tissue since he had a bit of sauce on his face. His voice was velvety and you bet if he sung he would of had the voice of an angel.
