"Do I know you?", Katys eyes focused on all of our faces.

"Oh my god no!", I had about 3 seconds of sanity left.

I got down on my knees in front of her before taking her hand.

"Kates come on please! Please tell me your joking I can't live without you!", I only had about a second now. And if she said no, I was a goner.

Her eyes grew wide as she looked into mine.

All I saw was fear.

She took her hand out of mine before awkwardly rubbing her hands over her stomach.

"I'm really sorry. Please believe me when I say it, I don't know who you are."

My whole world has just been crushed.

I dropped to my knees and cried.

I cried and cried until I didn't have enough sobs to control me.

Luckily Matt and the boys took me out of the room before I scared her too badly.

Hayes stayed back.

I felt bad for him.

He knew his brother was a dick.

He probably felt responsible.

No. Oh god no.

I was the responsible one.

I should have never made her send that text.

Again I was in a fit of coughs and tears.

Matt grabbed me and rubbed my back in slow circles. He dropped his head down into my neck and kissed different places slow and sweet.

"We will help her Laney babe. I promise.", He whispered into my hair as I let out more sobs.

About 20 minutes later, the nurse came back.

Immediately she asked me what was wrong, clearly observing my puffy eyes.

Brent spoke up and explained what happened.

Her eyes grew wide as she handed us a slip after telling a neurologist.

I eyed her closely.

"What is this?"

"It's a form I need you to take to her parents. It needs to be filled out to preform the surgery that has the potential to get her memories back.", She gave a forced smile.

My heart sank.

Katys parents were dead. I sank in the chair and sighed.

"Katys parents are deceased. I'm the only family she has. We aren't even biologically sisters.", I sighed as I felt another tsunami of tears coming on.

"You have permission to sign it then I guess."

Thank God.

I adjusted my hand before pressing it to the paper.

"Wait! There is one thing you should know. This procedure is quite dangerous.  Anything could happen. If it's succeeds, she will be able to recover in a matter of weeks and have most of her memories back. If not, we can't foresee the damage. It could be life threatening. ", The nurse shifted nervously before walking away with a nod.
