Chapter 4: The Corridor

After Tris left, I sat at the table; laughing at Uriah’s jokes, and smirking at Christina’s remarks to Will. After a while though, I noticed Tris hadn’t come back yet. I know it takes a while to get down there and back, but this long…? I sat, zoned out to my own thoughts about Tris, until Christina waved her hand in front of me.

“Earth to Tobias?! Hello? Anyone in there?” She said looking at me.

“I think it’s the muffin. It made him more bonkers than he already was…” said Uriah to Will with a smirk.

“Wha… What?” I said looking back to Christina quizzically.

“I said we are gonna go train a little bit. Do you want to come?” She said rolling her eyes.

“Well, I would like to but Tris isn’t back. Haven’t you noticed? She never usually takes this long. I better wait.” I said as I heard Uriah give an exasperated sigh.

“Well, fine I guess. Girls can sometimes take hours in the bathroom!” Christina said, waving her hand and joining Will and Uriah as they headed for the exit.

Hours? With that I said down at the table alone, dauntless members coming in and out occasionally. After fifteen minutes alone with my troubling thoughts I stood up. I started heading down the long corridor to the restroom, feeling mildly awkward for heading to the ladies one. After walking down the empty corridor for a while; a feeling that hasn’t settled on me in a long time fell upon me, as my eyes fell upon it. Dread and panic began racing into my veins. I ran over to the blood stained wall, my eyes growing large. I realized that not far away was the ladies restroom. My breaths became heavy as I ran over to the bathroom.

“Tris! Tris? TRIS!?” I shouted, almost screaming into the bathroom.

When no answer came back to me, I ran back to the wall. A medium blood stain was on the wall, looking like whoever’s blood it was, they at least put up a struggle. I started hysterically looking for clues, rage building up for whoever stole my Tris. I found a faint muddy boot trail, and I was off running with determined rage. I will find you Tris…
