"So" I said putting my elbows on the table and leaning forward "Any fun cases Mr. Detective?" We had just finished eating and we were just talking now.

Oliver laughed "I don't think you would describe my line of work as fun, but if you mean interesting. Yes, yes there have been many interesting cases"

"Name one"

"Okay there was one time where um, oh what's an interesting one, oh one time I had this man wander into the station with no memory of anything. Couldn't even remember his name." He said.

I stayed quiet, letting him continue.

"He had been shot, and the only thing that had kept him alive was a book" he said getting excited that he got to brag about a case.

"A book! How so?" I asked interested.

"Well, he had a book in his pocket and that was the only thing separating his chest and the bullet" he answered.

I leaned back in my chair and smiled "That's amazing. He's so lucky"

"I know right! Never seen anyone so lucky. But I don't really want to talk about work, I want to talk about you. I mean I can actually have a conversation with you and not a note pad" he said.

I smiled and looked down "Well, as you saw Adam made a video on his life. And I got hate for not being able to talk. That's the only reason I wanted to learn how to talk, so people wouldn't hate on me and Adam."

He smiled warmly "Well it's nice to hear your voice"

I smiled back "It is isn't it. I sound amazing"

He laughed "We were having a moment and you go and ruin it with your ego"

I laughed "Well I was being truthful wasn't I? And I wouldn't really call the ego"

"Nah, I was just saying that to be nice. You have the most ear bleeding voice I have ever heard. And that was you and your big ego" he said jokingly.

I rolled my eyes "What does that even mean?"

"You know, when the ears bleed from an awful sound. Makes perfect sense" he explained while making hand gestures.

"In your messed up head I'm sure it does" I teased.

"So to change the subject from hurtful one" I laughed and he smiled "How long have you and..... Max?" He asked. I nodded my head telling him that he had it right "Been dating"

I sighed just the topic I wanted to talk about "Just a few weeks."

He stayed silent, his way of telling me to continue. "Look I'm not in the best of places with him at the moment"

"What happened?" He asked with worry.

I smiled at how much he seemed to care "It's silly really but I feel like he is trying to change me."

"Why do you feel like that?" He asked.

"Like I said it's silly, but he gave me an outfit that I just didn't like. It wasn't inappropriate, but it was skinny jeans, high heels, and a shirt that stopped too short for my taste. And when we went to lunch that day with his parents and someone he knew from his home, I noticed that she looked kinda looked like me when I dressed like that. Like I said, silly" I explained.

"Y/n it's not silly if it hurts you." He said grabbing my hand over the table.

I put my hand over his and said "Thank you Ollie, it means a lot that you would say that"

"Any time" he replied.

"So" I asked changing the subject "Why aren't you at work?"

"I took a day off so I could come here, spend the day with you" he explained letting go of my hand.

"That's sweet, thank you. I wish I could see you more, I miss you" I admitted.

"I miss you too" he agreed.

"Well speaking of work, I have to get back to mine." I said standing up.

"Let us be off then" he announced getting up.

I laughed and started walking "Oh shoot. Hey I left my phone, let me just go get it"

He nodded his head and I went back to retrieve my phone. Once I got my phone, I got a glance at the person sitting at the booth that was next to us.

"Unbelievable" I said loud enough for them to hear me.

{Max's POV}

Shit shit shit. She's walking back, why is she walking back to the table? I looked away from her direction hoping she wouldn't see me.

"Unbelievable" I heard from the table.

I sighed knowing I had been spotted. I turned and waved "Hi n/n. Funny see you here"

"Parking lot. Now!" She said pointing to the door. She did not seam happy.

I got out if my chair and quietly walked to the door not meeting her eyes. Once I got outside I turned and waited for y/n and Oliver to come out.

"Max what the hell are you going here?" She seethed.

"Well I was going out for lunch you see. And when I got here, I saw that you guys were here too. What a coincidence right?" I lied. I knew she wouldn't believe me, I didn't even believe me.

She laughed and turned the opposite direction "Max I do not appreciate being spied on. You followed me to the restaurant and spied on me" she turned around to face me "Do you know how childish you're being?"

I looked at Oliver and he had this look. Like he was sad. I turned my attention back to y/n " Look, I'm sorry I really am. I don't know what came over me"

"I know what came over you. You don't trust me, that's it. You think I'm going to cheat on you. Well considering that I'm not your real girlfriend, that's going to be really hard"

I looked at her in surprise.

"What're you talking about?" Oliver asked confused.

"I'll explain later. And I can see your look Max. You have zero right to be made at me, do you understand? And the fact that we were never really dating I can not think of one reason why you would be here." She ranted.

"Y/n I know what I did was wrong, but I'm sorry" I acknowledged.

"You're sorry? Max sorry isn't going to fix this. I'm mad, really mad. You cannot just spy on someone and think it's going to be fine afterwords. This is going to take time to fix." She explained.

I looked down "I know. I know what I did was wrong. Please forgive me" I asked.

"No I do not forgive you. Come one Oliver, take me back to work please" she said already walking to the car once she had said no.

"Y/n come on. Please, let's talk more" I begged.

I heard a car door slam in response. I saw Oliver give me a pity look before getting in his car and driving away.

I messed up, really bad.

Hi guys sorry for the bad ending. Have a good day/night
