Thorin Oakenshield kissed me. He actually kissed me. Two reasons why you should never kiss me. One, when you are an elf surrounded by orcs you get a lot of unwanted attention. So from an early age, I learnt what to do when an orc puckered up his lips for you, either slap him so hard that it breaks his nose or kill him. And two, when you are kissed by a man or dwarf, he probably wants to seduce you, so he can capture or kill you.

And I, Celiviel half-elven child of the evil spirits slapped Thorin Oakenshield. Thorin held his check as it stung from my slap. His eyes watered but they soon returned to normal except they had rage in them. No one said a word. Probably because their leader had kissed a half-elf, half-demon necromancer and had got slapped. Only Dwalin saw the humour in the slap, he was holding back laughing at Thorin. Thorin turned to Bilbo.

'You,' he began again,' did I not say that you would be a burden, not survive in the wild, had no place amongst us.'

The hobbit looked frightened and Gandalf was worried. Thorin's serious face turned to a slight smile.

'I had never been so wrong in all of my life,' and hugged Bilbo. I started to worry if Thorin was thinking properly. First because he kissed me and second because he apologised to Bilbo and Thorin doesn't apologise to anyone, even though Bilbo did save him.

'But...I'm sorry I doubted you.'

Bilbo looked up at Thorin,' I'm not a hero, or a warrior, not even a burglar.' He said smirking at Gandalf.

Thorin smiled and looked passed Bilbo as he saw the lonely mountain. Bilbo turned around.

'Is that...,' he began.

'That is the lonely mountain,' Gandalf informed even though the dwarves all knew what it was.

The company began stepping down the long stairs to the ground. I watched how Fili and Kili tried to help their uncle get down the drop but he just pushed them away. I sighed, he didn't know how special his nephews were. I was ashamed of him, seeing as the boys father had died when they were young and Thorin should have been more of a father figure. Even though he taught them both how to fight, he should have been a bit more caring. I would have done anything to have any close relations. Kili walked up to me.

'Hey Elóndra, I was wondering if you want a hand?'

'Sure, Kili,' I smiled and let him help me down the drop towards the stairs.

'Thanks.'

'No worries, Lady Elóndra,' he smiled but then stopped when he saw my pained expression. The orcs called me Lady Celiviel.

'Um, sorry, I didn't mean anything,' Kili apologised.

'No, it's fine. just call me Elóndra,' I smiled.

'Okay...,' he trailed off. Thorin was looking back at me and slowed down so I would catch up to him, we were both at the back.

'Why do you hate to be called Lady Elóndra?' He asked.

'The orcs called me that,' I replied sharply.

'Weren't orcs- elves that went bad?'

'No...they tortured elves and turned them into orcs, they tried with me but it wouldn't work,' I explained.

'What did they do to you?'

'Thorin, the past is the past.'

'Then why won't you move on. Why does Azog talk to you after you hadn't seen him in sixty years. Can't you just run away!'

I pulled my sleeve up and showed him my curse,' I am cursed.'

'Cursed to do what?' He asked innocently.

'Cursed to kill you.'
