Our Love

Chapter 6

“Sweetie what took so long? I wouldn’t be surprised if the food is cold now” speaks Daniel, “Sorry Father I just saw Christian here and we started talking…. Sorry” speaks Anastasia in a hushed tone. When they finished their food they started walking around again Oliver saw Zach and ran up to him from behind and gave him a hug. Jade was standing next to him and she looked a bit confused as to why someone was hugging her son. When the rest of the Reed family caught up both Daniel and Jade looked a bit confused at the kids in front of them.

“Um Zach please explain why this little boy just hugged you because as far as I know you don’t know anyone on this island and I told you not to talk to strangers” speaks Jade in a confused tone. Zach looks up at his mum with a big grin on his face. “Oh mum this is the family Christian and I were talking about, the kids we were playing with at the beach and they sleep at the same hotel as us remember?” Zach says. Jade gives a ‘of course I remember’ look to her son and looks back at the gorgeous children in front of her, well groomed and styled and she could tell that they definitely had money in their back pocket. Then she looks up at the perplexing man in front of her and she slowly realises that he is the guy from the elevator and remembers his name and the feeling she felt when they shook hands. “I remember you; you’re the girl in the elevator Jade right?” speaks Daniel, “Uh yeah wow what a coincidence hey?” jade stutters out. “Oh Father Can we walk with Jade, Christian and Zach around the zoo pretty please?” says Ruby pouting her lips. “Oh yes mum pretty please” says Zach.  Daniel looks at jade and doesn’t see any sign of her wanting him to say no so he gives a sigh and agrees to this and while the kids look around the local zoo Daniel and Jade start talking and notice that they both have a lot in common personality wise.

They both went to an all-boys and all-girls school, she even accidently spilt hot coffee on him a few years ago in a town when they both were there on business at the time also they both lost their fiancés a few years ago. After a few hours of having fun the Thorn and Reed family decided to leave and decided it was cheaper to catch the same taxi so everyone piled into the taxi and drove off to the hotel. Jade was handing over the money to the taxi driver when Daniel grabbed her by the wrist and insisted on paying. Jade noticed the touching of the skin and blushed at the contact between them. Once everyone loaded out of the taxi both families decided to eat together at the hotel restaurant. Both families had a great time at dinner and decided to let their kids stay in Anastasia’s room for a movie night and sleep over.  The kids were having such a great time watching movies and eating junk food that they didn’t notice their parents leave. Daniel made sure the nanny he hired stayed in the room and looked after them while they decided to get some fresh air along the beach. Jade and Daniel took their shoes off and started walking along the beach quietly just listening to the waves rolling in and the sounds of a few cars driving by. It was a calming night just to be around people their own age and not stressing about anything. Nothing much happened that night, they talked more and bonded. Once they got back to the hotel they said their goodbyes and went to their hotel rooms.
