Soldier

Introduction

"Kate? Kate..." A husky voice called my name. I fluttered my eyes open, seeing a blur of white light. I finally see my boyfriend, Curtis looking at me.

"Hey..." I smile with my voice sounding exhausted. I wanted to sleep more but I can't bear without saying goodbye to Curtis before he leaves. 

I pull myself out of my bed and sit on the edge. Curtis stands next to me then finally sits by my side. He enfolds his warm hand with mine. I lean my head on his shoulder and take a deep breath. 

"What time are you leaving?" I ask, glancing at him. 

"8am, sharp." He places his hand behind my back. He pulls me near him so we're both cuddled up to each other. 

"I'm going to miss you." He whispers before planting a kiss in my forehead. I hover nearer to him, not wanting to let go. I didn't want him to leave honestly, but he has to. I know his mission is very important. The whole country counts on him and the army to be able to save us from the terrorists willing to assault. 

I pull away from him and pecked his lips softly before saying. 

"I'll see you soon."
