Stranger

Prompt 2: Get to know your partners and write a poem about them that is more than 20 lines.

We are mysterious strangers,
Who met at the Wild Flower poetry club.

Connected by a single passion,
An undying love for the written word.

Talk to them, says Jade,
Get to know your partners.

And got to know you I did,
Through a nice conversation I won't regret.

Sloth, said Ashley,
Is an animal I don't mind becoming.

So I can feel truly carefree,
And lie around all day without a worry.

I agree, I thought,
Who wouldn't want a carefree life?

And what do you want to do? I asked.
If you can have an entire day to yourself.

Read and write, of course!
She answered, without interruptions, or a care in the world.

Same, I thought. How lovely would it be,
to put on some peaceful music and just write?

And so we bonded,
Over some random and interesting questions.
