I woke up on the ground. I sat up fast and found that my hands were tied together with a rope. I looked around, but saw no one. I looked down at my waist and saw that my belt was gone. Someone had robbed me from all of my weapons.
"Looking for this?" I heard a boy's voice say. I looked up and saw the boy from 1, holding my belt. I gave him a look of hatred.
"I will give it to you, but for a price." He said.
"What?" I asked. He smiled.
"You show me where the boys from 4, 7, and 12 are, and I'll let you go." I shook my head.
"Never." The boy smiled and took the sword out of his belt.
"Fine." He lifted his sword. He was about to come down on me when I thought of a plan. My Game Plan.
"Wait!" I yelled.
"What?" He said.
"I'll show you where they are." I said.
"Good. It would be a shame if I had to kill such a very pretty girl." He said, smiling at me. "Show me where they are, Princess." He said. I fake smiled back.
"You have to untie me, first." I said. He stopped and sighed. Then, he pulled a knife from his pocket and cut my rope off.
When he cut my rope, I tried to run, but he grabbed my left arm. I swung my right arm at his head but epically failed. He had grabbed my hand even before it had got near him. He pulled me close and put the knife to my throat.
"Woah." He said as I struggled in his grip. He pushed the knife further into my neck and I could feel beads of my blood seeping out.
"I'd really hate to see your beautiful face in the sky tonight, sweetheart." He let go of me and I fell to the ground. I put my hand on my neck and found it covered in fiery red blood.
"I hate you." I said, looking up at him.
"But I like you. You're a feisty one, aren't ya'?" He asked, picking me up. I jerked away from him and started walking.
"This way." I said. I led him in the opposite direction of camp. Towards the cornucopia. He just would not shut up.
"How old are you, Girl on Fire?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.
"Not your age, so shut up." I would reply, but he wouldn't give up until he got an answer. So I finally told him.
"Only two years younger than me. It's not that much of a difference." He said. I rolled my eyes again and felt his hand on my hand. I swung at him and hit him square in the jaw. He took a swing at me and hit me on the side of my head. I stumbled backwards due to the impact of the punch. I put my hand up to my head and felt the warm blood seeping out my ear. I looked at him and saw he had a rope in his hands.
"Sorry. But you didn't listen." He said, grabbing me and pulling my hands behind my back. I could feel the hard rope getting tied behind my back, and struggled to get away. But I failed. He tied it and let me go, and I stumbled towards onto my knees. He grabbed me and pulled me to my feet. Then I heard voices. The boy yelled some weird word and three other boys came out from behind a giant tree. They all three smiled when they saw me.
"Boys. This is little miss Fire Girl." He said mockingly. They all laughed. They came closer.
"Untie me. Or else." I said. They all laughed.
"Or else what?" One of the boys said. I shrugged.
"I won't lead you to 4, 7, or 12." They smiled at me.
"That's fine. We'll just get some other kid-" I interrupted the boy talking.
"Only my allies know where camp is." I said. They all looked like they wanted to kill me, except for the boy from 1. He was smiling at me.
"Feisty, like I said." He said and nodded.
"Fine." He cut the rope from my hands. "What a waste of rope. Lead us, then, princess." He said. I didn't move.
"I only take one of you." I said. I could hear them all moan.
"Sorry, girly. We make the rules around here. Either you lead us to your tribe or get a spear in your head. Your choice."
I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"Lead on, tiger." He said. The three boys surrounded me, like a triangle, the whole time. I would never lead them to Aylor and the others. Never.
"How much further?" A boy asked. I clutched my fists and turned around to face the boy. I was as tall as him.
"Shut up. We'll get there when we get there." I said, raising my eyebrows. I felt a hand on my shoulder turn me around. I started walking, only because I felt she sharp point of a knife poke my back.
"I never properly introduced myself," the boy who I had met first said. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm Kendall. What's your name, Fire Princess?" He asked, leaning close to me.
"Why would I tell you, potato face?" I spat in his face. I felt the knife pierce into my skin on my back and winced.
"Because I asked you nicely," he said.
"Fine. I'm Alycer." I muttered.
"What was that?"
"Alycer!" I yelled in his face. "Sorry! I don't speak idiot!"
That got me a hard blow to the stomach that made me crumble onto my knees. If they didn't stab me they could probably kill me with punches. They brought me back to my feet.
"How bout we rest here for the night?" A boy asked. "Oh, and by the way, I'm Conlee."
"Oh, I'm Trenen." The other boy said.
They tied me to a nearby tree before getting their sleeping bags out. They didn't make a fire, thankfully, and I could hear their snores after a few silent moments. I couldn't fall asleep. I kept thinking about Aylor. He was probably worrying about me, not sleeping either. Then, the Fallen Tribute thing appeared in the sky and I looked up. Only Rue today. I felt a small tear escape my eye and finally fell asleep.
