Well, to be honest, most of my family likes to make jokes about me liking anime. I usually just brush it off because I don't really care lol. I like what I like, and half of them watch shitty TV shows and don't know what a good show is if it smacked them in the face lmao.
But, I don't usually announce I like anime to just anyone. Not alot of people at school or anything like it and make fun of it. Most of my friends like it though, so that's pretty neat. Plus, everyone online is so nice and literally open to anything so I don't ever have to worry about what I like and don't like.
My cousin, however, used to torment me constantly about like anime. Especially when I was younger. Doesn't bother me anymore but I remember when I was little that her words really bothered me. She'd put me down for simply liking/watching it.
Like I said, I tend to ignore anyone who has an opinion against anime. I can like what I like and just because they aren't interested I shouldn't get upset over irrelevant opinions.
Jesus, everyone acts like it's a crime when half of ya'll parents grew up watching Pokémon and Sailor Moon lol.
