I admire every girl that's undergone transitioning their natural hair and I even admire the ones who keep their hair relaxed. I embarked on the natural hair journey after cutting out my relaxed hair and conditioning it to go back to my original texture of hair and it was not easy. It's physically a challenge but also emotionally because my family hates it. Like it's okay to not be used to something and take time to get used to it but please don't do Abu of the following:

Don't ask if I've cut my hair.
Don't say "Wow your hair used to be so pretty you should straighten it."
Don't offer your own "expertise" and limited knowledge of hair.
---It's literally so rude like don't offer your opinion unless I ask for it or your help.

It makes people feel like shit about the decision they've made to get healthier hair. I have 4b/4c textured hair and it hurts when my own mom tells me I need to "do something to it". Like I literally stayed up for 5 hours last night twisting my hair and maintaining it's moisture and you're telling me that just because it's not how you like it that my hard work is invalid.

I'm at a point in my life where I feel like I can't even rely on family for personal help or life advice.
