Taehyung had thought about this moment for years, the first moment, their first moment. He didn't want to lose any more, he's already lost his brother, he doesn't need to lose his best friend too.

Taehyung pulled Jungkook into a kiss, bringing both their lips in front of the others'. Every inch closer made Jungkook's eyes widen so much his eyes started to water. As a tear fell from Jungkook's eye Taehyung thought he was upset about what was going to happen and softly pushed him back.

"What?" Jungkook was confused, he didn't even notice his eyes watering so much.

"Your eyes, you're crying." Taehyung said, wiping them from his cheek.

"I'm not, they're just a little watery." Jungkook said, not ready for this to end, he pulled Taehyung back with a strong tug and kissed him. Their eyes locked, both unable to look away they held themselves there for a bit.

Cherry blossom petals fell around them, they heard the wind in their ear, the water rushing down from the top of the river hitting the rocks as it passed by.

It was a peaceful moment, one they both very much needed, together. Jungkook held Taehyung in his arms as people walked by, slowly turning their faces to look at the couple, smiling as they walked. A child noticed them in the distance and ran up to them holding something behind his back.

"Hi kiddo, what d'you have there?" Jungkook asked the kid, who looked about 10.

"A flower, for you two to share." The kid handed the flower to Taehyung, who just started at him.

"Thank you very much, now slowly walk back to your parents so you don't fall over, okay?" Jungkook safely suggested.

"He- He looks like..." Taehyung stuttered, unable to get the words out, but Jungkook understood.

"I know. I haven't forgotten his face either." Jungkook said, while softly holding Taehyung's hand who was still holding onto the flower the boy had given him.

"How can two people look so alike?" Taehyung asked, but Jungkook didn't know, so he decided to come up with an answer.

"Maybe he's here to wish you well, by giving you a flower, the sign of beauty and growth. To assure you everything will be okay, that you're stronger like the petals from this flower. So don't give up, not now, not ever. I'm not going to go anywhere so put those thoughts somewhere else." Jungkook didn't need to give Taehyung assurance now, as he went so long without it, but somehow Taehyung felt thankful towards him for doing so.

Nobody said a thing, Jungkook just held Taehyung as they moved to sit on the bench. Taehyung replayed the words in his head that Jungkook had said, over and over. Finally he got what he needed and was able to be at peace with not just himself, but the accident.

Joohyuk is far from gone, the memories still remain and that's the most precious thing to them both.
