Shawn's POV:
4 days after Jake went to jail...

She's been out of the hospital for a day, but the nurses said she should take it easy. I've been at her house ever since. When she can finally stop "taking it easy" I'm going to ask her out on a date. I mean, she is my girlfriend after all. She's laying on the couch. It's just us in the her house right now. She's an only child, her mom is at work, and she's never mentioned her dad to me. I stroke her soft, brown hair and her eyes open just enough that she can see me, and she smiles.
"Shawn...?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I have a pillow, please?"
"Of course." I get her a pillow from the closet and hand it to her.
"Thank you." She starts smacking me with the pillow.
"Hey, hey! Take it easy!" We both laugh.
"Nah, I'm good!" She gets up and keeps smacking me with the pillow and laughing.
"Okay, that's it!" I pick her up by her legs, so her torso is hanging over my shoulder, and facing behind me. She starts kicking and giggling. I take her to her room.
"No, Shawn!!" She screams, kicks, and laughs. She is so cute. "Shawn, put me - put me down!! Shawn!!" I plop her down on the bed and start tickling her. "SHAWN!!! STOP IT!!" She continues laughing.

Later that night when Shawn went home...

"Hey, what's up?" I reply.
"Nothing much, just chilling, watching TV. I miss you."
"I only left like an hour ago!😂"
"I know, but I still miss you!!😘"

"Do you want to go out to dinner with me tomorrow night?"
"Omg! Yes, of course!! Thank you so much!"
"Why are you thanking me?😂"
"I don't know, I'm just really excited!"
"Okay! It's a date! I'll pick you up around 7?"
"Sounds good!"

I'm really nervous! I'm going on a date with Shawn Mendes! THE Shawn Mendes!! And I'm his girlfriend!! Could like get any better?? I come downstairs in my pink maxi dress and I'm holding my sparkly pink clutch.
"Oh, Jess! You look so beautiful!" She says through tears.
"Thanks mom....but why are you crying?"
