Chapter 4: Best friends

When Branch brought Poppy back to his bunker he told her to take a seat on the sofa which she did. Branch walked to the kitchen and brought out two bowls, one pink and the other blue. He opened the freezer door and brought out a new tub of Neapolitan ice cream, he took out a metal scooper, two spoons, a bottle of chocolate syrup, two cherries and some sprinkles. He bought this stuff two hours ago in case Poppy came to visit him again because he knew how much she loved ice cream sundaes. He opened the ice cream and put three scoops in both bowls he then opened the bottle of chocolate syrup and poured it on the ice cream, opened the sprinkles and sprinkled them on the ice cream and finally put the cherries on top. He put everything away and walked out the kitchen with the two bowls in his hands. He sat on the couch and handed the pink bowl to Poppy. "Ice cream? Thank you Branch" Poppy said happily. "You're welcome Poppy." Branch said with a smile. Poppy began to eat the ice cream and sighed when she felt the vanilla strawberry and chocolate heavenly creaminess in her mouth along with the chocolate syrup and crunchy sprinkles. "This is delicious Branch." She said putting the bowl down and gave Branch a hug. He was a bit surprised but set his bowl down and wrapped his arms around her and returned the hug. "Branch?" Poppy said quietly with a smile and closed eyes. "Yes Poppy?" Branch said rubbing her back. "You're my very best friend." She said looking at him with a smile, she couldn't stop looking at his handsome face and his gorgeous blue eyes, and his smile, she honestly wanted to kiss those lips and run her fingers through that soft looking black hair, she also wanted to make love to him and marry him and have his children and grow old and die with him. "You're my very best friend too Poppy." Branch said leaning into her and touched noses with her. Poppy was a little surprised but she began to rub noses with him but once again their moment was ruined by a knock on the door. They both grunted in annoyance and got up to answer the door and found The Snack Pack standing outside looking all sweaty and tired and panting. "Uh hey guys what's wrong?" Branch said looking at them in confusion and worry. "We're looking for Poppy but we can see she's right here." Guy Diamond said out of breath. "Come in guys I'll get you some ice water and ice cream." Branch said. "ICE CREAM?! Oh hell yeah!" The Snack Pack said in unison and ran in the bunker as fast as they can.
