Jemma tried to protest as Fitz followed,  but his father had a firm grip on his wrist, and he was out of the door before the words could leave her mouth. She stood there in silence, not knowing how to function without him.the door had slammed abruptly and somehow locked out her other half. Would Fitz just leave like that? Where was he going? The deafening silence suddenly got to her, and she found herself reaching for her phone dialling Fitz number and waiting . Waiting. "You have reached the voicemail of Fitz please leave a message." She was silent for a moment, then: " hi Fitz, just wondering what time you were coming back, or where you were going. Call me back soon."

A few hours passed and she heard nothing .  Alone she had sat at a table and ate her casserole, and alone she now sat on the couch waiting for him to come back. But another hour passed, and still nothing came up. By this time he would have surely come back, she had to go back to her apartment upstairs. She spent another half hour packing the project up and 5 minutes packing her laptop, but still, no Fitz.
She opened the door, leaving the rooms tidy and ordered, just how they liked it.
Suddenly, her phone rang. Relief flooded through her, and immediately she answered and put the phone to her ear.
"Fitz, where are you?"
Silence. "Fitz?"
"Jemma, I'm sorry, my father told me I have to run his company and I'm flying back to Scotland now."
"Scotland? But what about our project? S.H.I.E.L.D?"
"I can't Jemma. We're already nearly half way there."
