Jemma was brought to a dark building, that had too many windows, and was filled with too many people. She was confident, but Fitz had an affect on her, a strange calming affect, and she missed it terribly. She had to bite her lip to stop herself from squealing in excitement, yet she had also to clasp her hands together to stop them from shaking. She felt a number of different emotions: fear, happiness, confusion, and she felt so overwhelmed with it all. Agent Coulson had led her through many departments, and was explaining what S.H.I.E.L.D needed her and Fitz for, it was hard for her to focus on one thing, so she didn't catch much of his explanation. Something about...extraterrestrial material....alien tissue analysis...some sort of technology... she was astounded by it all, and couldn't wait to tell Fitz what they had the experience to do!
Except, Fitz wasn't here, or at the apartment, or the lab. She had no idea where he was, only that he was with his father. Suddenly all the excitement drained from her, and she began again to feel the ache in her chest that Fitz had left."Miss Simmons? Is everything okay?" Agent Coulson must have noticed. immediately she put a smile on her face, though it didn't reach her eyes. "Yes, sir," again, there was that look of uncertainty, like at the apartment. But it passed and soon he resumed his tour. They were led through more departments, and soon they reached the lab. Jemma was astounded, this was her dream, Fitz dream, this is what they had worked towards their whole lives! But the tremor in her heart still remained.
