Coulson showed her to the briefing room, where about 12 other agents stood. At the top of the table, in front of a big projector screen, was a dark skinned man. A scar ran across his face, and a black patch covered his left eye. "Agents," he said, straightening his papers and looking around the room,"we have a become aware of The growing threat that has arisen in the UK," some people mumbled, but soon became quiet, wanting to know more about the threat. "They have discovered an extra terrestrial and foreign material, which has been weaponised and used against out people. Fortunately, we have been able to recover a weapon of the kind, and we have Jemma Simmons and Leopold Fitz to analyse it, giving us a potential idea of the circumstances."everyone turned to her. She could feel as her cheeks became flushed with red, and began to fiddle with her fingers. He carried on, " we need to mobilise and get a team out to a possible head quarters of the organisation." A map popped up on the screen behind, and he took a side step to let everyone see. It showed a Map of Scotland. "They seem to be working in northern Scotland, but we have yet to identify anyone directly linked to the organisation."
The director carried on explaining where the team would be going, what to expect and what to look for, then dismissed everyone away. The table was soon empty, and just Jemma and Coulson were stood. "Miss Simmons if you would like to follow me." He took her through another maze of offices, and then to the laboratories. It was amazing, bigger than any lab that she'd ever seen.
Their was at least two dozen scientist working on things; one was testing a laser of some-sort, and another mixing together a strange green neon chemical with blue diamond-like crystals. The walls Were mostly white, which Jemma didn't mind, and there were windows everywhere. Glass walls with tranluscent covers stood between stations, creating a personalised space for each scientist. "Your station is here next to Mr Fitz's." The mention of his name was like a punch to the gut. She's managed to forget that he wasn't there next to her. How could she?
Now that she had noticed, it was as if there was something missing, something that made things feel wrong. She shouldn't be here without Fitz. He has spent his life with her waiting for this.
All of a sudden, two men in shield jackets carried in a metallic box. "This is the weapon. It was found after SHIELD managed to stop a movement across to the states. We've had some others in to analyse it, but none with as much expertise as you and your friend." He stood, waiting for a reply, but she was silent, overwhelmed with guilt, but filled with an excitement deep within. "I guess there is nothing left to say. Report back when you find something."
