"A hoe never gets-"
"I'm still fucking human, Catherine," I huffed in annoyance as I angrily tugged my jacket closer to my body.
"Come on, don't be so grumpy."
I felt like I was going to get hypothermia at any given moment. The bitter New England weather nipped at my bare skin while Catherine and I walked down the street to where we were all meeting for dinner and drinks. The place wasn't supposed to be a super high class, so I decided against a dress.
It was Matheus's girlfriend, Alice's, birthday and also the day before Thanksgiving, which was the most exciting. I haven't seen them in 3 weeks, specifically, the last time I saw them was the day after Harry left for England.
I knew Matheus would be pissed off if we were late. He even made us buy Andra gifts, I hope she likes TGI Fridays because I got a gift card to there without even asking if she liked the place. But if she doesn't that's totally fine, I'll happily take the gift card back and use it myself.
"Remind me why I'm in summer clothing right now," I turned to Catherine who was wearing a white dress and a large jean jacket to warm herself.
"I thought you'd look cute and didn't expect it to be that cold," she muttered and rolled her eyes as I was still holding a grudge for her choosing this outfit for me.
"We've been living here for a while now, and you didn't expect it to be cold in the middle of November?" I mocked her, and she nudged me with her elbow before I laughed at her. We finally reached the place and went inside the warm building.
They rented out a whole room for everyone and the tab was on Alison, since her parents were loaded and insisted that they create a special night for their daughter and her friends. We greeted everyone and sat next to Matheus who was talking to Aly about something that didn't interest me.
"Harry came home last week," Matheus turned to me, and I pursed my lips while staring at the table without blinking.
"I heard," I played with my necklaces as I avoided making eye contact with him because he was most likely scolding at me for pretending not to care, when I actually did, like a lot.
"Have you guys talked or seen each other at least?"
"No, and I'm fine with that."
He dropped the conversation after that and I sighed before taking a sip from my water. I looked up and choked before spilling the contents all over my body and immediately dragging Matheus to the bathroom by his ear.
"Why is he here?" I locked the door to the women's restroom behind us and he whined while rubbing his sore earlobe.
"You two need to makeup already and stop being annoying," I was seething at this point. The fact that Matheus would go behind my back and invite Harry irked me more than it should've.
"We've been best friends for 10 years and you're just going to go behind my back like that?" My voice slightly cracked at the end as I sighed and ran my hairs through my hair.
"Grace what I did is the right thing, you might not see it now, but you'll thank me one day."
With that being said, he walked by me and unlocked the door before walking back to the table. I managed to calm myself down before heading back to the table and noticing Catherine was now sitting in another spot, and of course Harry was in her seat.
