Rexter

Chapter 1

Our story begins in Professor Rumpelstiltskin's class, as the students of Ever After High were waiting to get partnered up for a project that would last a whole trimester.  Raven Queen sat in the back of the class just hoping she didn't get Sparrow Hood or Apple White for her partner. She spent enough time with Apple as it was, and Sparrow would make her do all the work (and there was no way was she going to do all the work). She sat back there and started to think of what partner she would like to have: Dexter Charming, or, Maddeline Hatter.  She would love to have Maddie as her partner, she would make the whole thing much more fun, and being paired with her Best friend forever after, would be awesome. But on the other hand, Dexter would be nice to have as a partner. He's super smart and funny, and cute, and- 

"hocus focuses Raven." she had to pay attention or she could miss her partner's name. 

"Apple White you are with Cupid." Raven let out a sigh of relief. Dexter away gets paired up with Cupid and this time Raven had a shot to get him as her partner. 

"Raven Queen you are with..." She could only hope for the best now. 

"Dexter Charming." Raven tried hard not to do a Cheshire Big smile. Being paired with Dexter was amazing. She's had a crush on him since, forever after. And this was her chance to get to know him better as a friend, and maybe even more.  Dexter stood up and started to walk towards Raven. She moved aside so Dexter could sit. She was drawn to his Bright blue eye, anytime she looked in his eyes she could Forget about her troubles, and only see him. 

"Today class, your trimester long assignment is to train a mythical creature. Under your desk, you will find a piece of paper. On it will have the kind of animal you will need train and take care of, and where to find it." Raven and Dexter both, at the same time, went to grab the piece of paper, and as they found the paper at the same time, their hand's touch and Raven could feel a rush of joy go through her. And she could only imagine how red she was. 

"You can get it," said Dexter with his smooth voice, that makes Raven want to just kiss him even more than she already wants to. 

"Ok," said Raven not knowing what else to say at that moment. She opened the piece of paper. 

"Our animal Is a dragon. Cool." Raven knew a lot about dragons, but she didn't know if Dexter did. If he didn't, she could try to impress him and get closer to him. 

"Where do we find our dragon?" Dexter ask. Raven looked at the piece of paper and tilted her head. 

"To find what you seek you will need to know three things: 

1. You must walk a ways to get what you seek. 

2. It is close to something old but not forgotten.                                                                                       

3. You can hear them roar from where you are.

What in the hex does that mean?!?" Raven was never good at riddles, and Maddie tried to help her, but she could never get the hang of it.  

"That doesn't even rhyme," Dexter said. She laughed. Dexter could make her Laugh, and the only other person who could do that, well, as far as she knew, was Maddie. 

"What did the first riddle says, again?" Dexter asked. He was never good at remembering things. 

"You must walk a ways to get what you seek. No duh" Dexter laughed. Did Raven Queen just Make Dexter charming laugh!?! 

"No, I think it means you have to walk farther than you would normally have to," Dexter said, still smiling. 

"OK, so the next one is, It is close to something old, but not forgotten. Well, we know that it can't be in the school so maybe it's something in the enchanted forest?" Raven said. 

"I don't think so. I mean I know the enchanted forest and there isn't a lot forgotten.....Oh, I know. It has to be the old Dragon stables! You have to walk a ways to get there, and it's near the old dragon playing field and you can hear the dragons rowr from the dorms." Dexter said, in a very proud voice. They talked for awhile, then the bell rang. 

"OK, so we know where it is, do you want to meet up at three after school In front of the stables?" Raven asked while gathering her belongings. 

"OK, I'll meet you there," Dexter said with of smile. Raven was super excited to work with Dexter, and, on top of all that, she would have to see him every day starting at three. Just the two of them no other student around. Raven couldn't wait till Three. It was going to be a long day, she could tell.
