Rexter

Chapter 2

Dexter was thrilled to work with Raven. He's had a crush on her since, nursery rhyme school. Kids would always be mean to Raven or make fun of her. And anytime Dexter saw someone do any one of those things he would pull them aside and give them a lesson, but only verbally. He would've got in so much trouble if he started a fist fight at age five, and he wasn't very strong at the time. But he sometimes wonders what things would be like now if he had just told Raven how he felt, or if she found out about saving her from more mean and nasty comments when they were little. Would they be together? Dexter thought about this all the time. 

"Um, earth to Dex, my man." Hunter Huntsman said. Hunter was the son of the Huntsman in Red Riding hood and Snow White. Also, Hunter was his roommate and one of his best friends forever after. The other ones where his Brother and Sister. Daring Charming, and Darling Charming. 

"Oh, hey. Sorry about that. Just in a deep thought, I guess." Hunter looked at him.

"Dex, do you want to tell me whats on your mind. I mean, come on man, you've been acting  weird ever since professor Rumpelstiltskin's class." Dexter knew where this was going. Hunter and Darling are the only people who know about his crush on Raven. He would tell Daring, but Daring has some flaws. One of them being, he has a big mouth. 

"Ok, I got paired up with Raven-" Hunter got a big smile on his face. 

"Good for you." Hunter looked at him and gave him a little nudge on his shoulder. Dexter looked back at him. 

"No. Not good at all. I'm going to make fool out of myself, in front of her!" Dexter said with a sad look on his face. All his excitement was being replaced with fear. 

"Look, man, you could just finally tell Raven how you feel. I know you don't know your destiny yet, but she could be your destiny." Dexter look at him with a, what are you talking about, look on his face.

"I mean, what if her going off script changed your story. You are the only royal that I know of the likes Raven like that, and what if your destiny was to be her good king and now that she went off script, she's could be your damsel in distress you have to save. Ever thought about that?" Hunter said. Dexter had never thought about it. It would make some sense. He's always protected Raven from those kids when he was five, and many times after that. Dexter has been doing a lot for Raven, but with her never knowing. 

"I guess, it makes sense, somewhat." Just then the coco clocks bird popped out and did a little chirp and when back in and out, in, out, and so on. 

"Oh no. It can't be three already!" Dexter looked at the clock. And as soon as he saw that the time was three, he ran out as fast as he could. Raven could be there already, and waiting for him. Dexter ran, with the all the dorms passing as he rushed by. As he Raced to get to the stables, he texted Raven.    

 Dexter:  Raven, I'm sorry, I'm going to be late. Running down to the stable from my dorm. 

Raven <3:  K. I'm halfway there already, so don't worry about it. :)

Dexter put a little heart emoji next to Raven's name. It made him feel like she was his girlfriend. As Dexter ran out to the courtyard, he bumped into a girl while typing his reply on his mirrorphone and then fell on her, with his glasses falling off. 

"Oh, my gods. Are you ok Dexter?" He heard a voice say, it sounded like Raven but he couldn't be sure. He was as blind as a bat without his glasses. 

"Um, I think so." Dexter felt the girl get out from underneath him, and then a hand touched his arm, it went down his from his shoulders to his hands and grabbed them. The girl helped Dexter up. 

"Not to be rude, but who are you? I can't see well, at all without my glasses." The girl laughed. 

"It's me, Raven," she said as she put his glasses on him. Then all he could see was Raven's bright purple eyes, that could light up the whole village. Well, at least Dexter thought they could. 

"Oh, h-hey Raven. Sorry about knocking you down." Dexter said with a little shy smile. 

"It's ok, really. I'm not hurt." Raven dusted off her dress. 

"Well, come on let's go down to the stables." Dexter felt embarrassed, but he knew Raven forgave him. And with that, they were off to see their Dragon for the first time.
