Chapter 4

It was about 4:00 pm and Dexter had finally just got some news about Raven. "She hit her head and has a mile concussion. She should wake up In a few hours." The doctor said. "Thank you." Dexter sat down next to darling. Dexter texted Maddie as soon as they took Raven and he sat down, to come down as quickly as she could and then he called darling to come. "Well, Ravens going to be OK, that good," Darling said, with one arm around him. "Yeah. I'm just happy that she going to be OK." Dexter said. Dexter tilted his head back and closed his eye. Dexter fell asleep. When Dexter opened his eyes Maddie was next to him sitting drinking tea, and Darling's head was on his lap. "Do you like my Raven bird Dex?" Maddie said. "Um, where did that come from?" Dexter starting feeling hot all of a sudden. " I was talking to one of the nurses and she said she thought you were her boyfriend because you were acting like one and holding Raven like she was yours. "Dexter was impressed by the way Maddie could talk really fast and without use much air. "I...Um...I..I do. I've liked Raven for as long as I could remember. And I vowed I would take care of her after this, and love her. If that's ok with you." Maddie look surprised and then she sipped some tea and said "That sounds... TEA-RIFIC!!" Maddie said while throwing up her hands. Dexter was pleased to have Raven's best friend forever after giving him permission to be her boyfriend.  

"Mr. Charming?" Dexter look over at a nurse and stood up. "Raven Queen is up if you would like to see her." Dexter started to walk. "If you would follow me." Dexter followed the nurse down the wide hall and took a right-hand turn and walked passed four doors, and finally came to Raven's door. "Please don't be too loud." said the nurse and walked away. Dexter grabbed the door handle and pulled down, and then push the door opened. He walked in to see Raven looking at him. Dexter smiled and then so did Raven. "How are you feeling ?" Dexter said. "OK. I've been through worst. But my head does hurt a lot." Dexter smiled. He was very glad the raven was OK, and to hear it come from her. "How did you get me here? I mean, I can't be light." Dexter chuckled. "I picked you up and ran into the stables, and Nevermore flew me here with you in my arms," Dexter said. "Wow." Raven was too stunned to say anything else. "Um... I hope that's OK with you." Dexter said. " Raven laughed. " yeah, it's OK with me." Dexter couldn't stop smiling.

After two days in the hospital, Raven was allowed to leave. As Raven was getting changed, there was a Knock at the door. " Hold on," Raven Shouted. "OK." Wait, she knew that voice. "Dex!?" Raven shouted as she put her shirt on. "Yeah?" Raven was almost running to the door. She opened it to Dexter in nicer clothing than normal. "Hey, I'm here to help you get your stuff out." Raven was very happy. "Come in. There's not much to do." Dexter walked in. He was Happy to see Raven finally out of bed. Dexter had visited her every day she was there. Dexter picked up a box of Raven's belongings and helped check her out. As Nevermore flew them back to Ever After High, Raven started to talk with Dexter. She was so busy talking she didn't see them pass Ever After High. As they flew over the enchanted forests, Raven finally figured they passed Ever After High. "Where are we going ?" Raven asked. "It's a surprise," Dexter said with a smile.  Was Dexter Charming taking Raven Queen somewhere secret? Nevermore Landed with a "THUD". Raven saw a blanket with some food and drinks near a fire. Dexter Jumped off and held out his hand and bowed. Raven took his hand and jumped off landing in his arms. Raven was confused but happy. As they walked hand in hand, Raven knew what this was about. "Is this a date Dexter?" Raven said with hope in her voice. "If you want it to be," Dexter said. Raven knew her answer already. She moved closer to Dexter, and so they were walking hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder.  Dexter and Raven sat down close to the fire. "I felt like after being cooped up for two days, you would want to see a sunset, and be out in the open" Raven moved closer. "How did you know?" Dexter smiled. "Just did." As they ate, Raven and Dexter were playing "Truth or Truth." Raven thought that was a good way to get know each other better. "OK, OK, my turn," Raven said. "What is your full name?" Dexter groaned, but answered "Dexterous Charming." Raven had no idea that was his full name. he always kept that a secret. She really liked it. She couldn't understand why he hated it so much. "OK, my turn." Raven was nervous. "Would you be my girlfriend if I asked?" Raven was shocked that Dexter asked that but was happy to reply. "Yes. I would be your girlfriend forever after." Dexter smiled, and then stood up. Dexter started to play some music as the sun was just about done setting. "May I have this dance." Raven Grabbed his hand. "But of course," Raven said in a posh silly voice. Dexter grabbed Raven's waist and pulled her closer. Raven put her hands around his neck. As they dance with the sun setting the wind blowing a nice cool air, Raven and Dexter moved closer and closer, till they were so close to each other face there noses could touch. Dexter put his lips on Ravens, as the sun was done setting and it was night. A night of Change.
