Driving down the quiet streets of Vermont was a new thing to me, we had just arrived to the state we were going to be living in. We would've stayed in New York, but Vermont is my fathers hometown, and he found a cheap little house here.
"Briiiiii, we're here sweetie!" My mom cheered, she rushed out of the car to get our bags. My dad wheezed and got out of the car slowly, I got out as well.
My dad had always been a heavy smoker, sure smoking kills, but so does living. I guess it didn't help that he was 2 years older than my mother, and she's 42. I hauled my 5 suitcases in and hung up my clothes until the U- Haul truck pulled in the drive way, my aunt had been driving it, she lived up here, so she didn't mind.
Behind the U- Haul, pulled up my uncles truck with the trailer attached, my Jeep called my name. I wasn't allowed to drive it yet, but I take my drivers test next month!
After unpacking, my mother made us a nice chicken dinner, with warm buns and yellow corn. Not to mention macaroni and the fresh fruit salad she prepared. I was exhausted and full after dinner.
I could hear my aunt and my uncle saying goodbye as I lay in bed, rain drops patting onto the roof and my window mix with their mumbled voices, great. I hate this place so far, and to top it all off, I have school tomorrow.
