The dismissal bell rang, finally. I walked out to the bus lot, looking for my bus. I repeated the bus number in my head,
"209, 209, 209."
I found the bus eventually and climbed up the steps and into my seat from this morning.
"Hey girl, how was the first day?" The bus driver asked me, I looked at him with a smirk.
"You're awfully nice to be a bus driver. But it was good." He laughed at my response, I smiled then looked out the window, I suddenly felt a warm presence next to me. When I turned to look, I was shocked.
"Hey! You must be new, I'm Adriana." The presence said with a white, but crooked smile.
"Well hi, I'm Brianna." I said, smiling back. We shook hands then I just stared at her for a minute, examining her. She had caramel skin and a short, pixie style hair cut. She had big light brown eyes and dimples when she smiled. She was shorter than I, but very fit.
She gave me a weird look after a while,
"Oh! Sorry, you're just.. Really pretty! I can kinda tell that you're not from here..." She blushed when I said this,
"Well thank you! You're pretty beautiful yourself. But yeah, I'm from California. I hate it here. We moved here four months ago and everyone ignores me!!" She added a wink, I laughed at her comment,
"I don't like it here so far either, I'm used to busy streets and staying home for school then going out with my friends! It's so empty here and everyone seems so gloomy. I'm from New York, by the way. We just got here last night." I said sadly,
We exchanged numbers and she told me to call whenever. I walked into the house, dreading that I had given myself homework for each of my class periods but lunch, seventeen to thirty questions each class.
Damn it.
