-one year later--roxys pov-

I walked through the halls of my schools, keeping my head down. I didn't want to come back here, but my dad made me.

Maybe no one will remember me. I mean, I only froze the ground around the captain of the football team in front of the whole school, right?

Well, guess who was wrong? This girl.

Everyone knew about my powers. Even the freshmen. When I passed by people in the hallway I heard them talking about me. But I'm not the only person they're talking about. They're also talking about Juliet and some new guy of hers. I wish I could hang out with her but I can't risk hurting her again.

The first half of the day went by in a blur. I always sat in the back corner with my hair covering my face. No one recognized me. Until lunch that is...

Just like my strategy in my classes, I sat at the table in the back of the cafeteria that no one sits at. I sat quietly until I heard a group of people, or girls, walk in. The cheerleaders...shit! She can't find me...! But she does. She and an unfamiliar boy walk up to where I'm sitting. And to be honest...I DON'T look up.

"Roxy?! Is that you?!" I heard her peppy voice say.

"Uhhhh no?" I said, trying to make my voice sound different. It didn't work.

"Don't lie to your best friend Roxy. It IS you!" She said, sitting down. The boy follows but doesn't say anything.

"Juliet there's a reason I left," I said. "I'm not safe, and I'm not stable. If I had stayed I would have frozen you all."

"I'm still sitting here," said Juliet. She motioned to the guy. He had brown hair and green eyes. "This is my boyfriend Greyson. Greyson, this is Roxy."

Juliet kept on trying to make conversations with me, but I just listened to her talk until lunch was over. After it was over, I silently walked to my chemistry class.

I can't let her back in. I'll end up hurting her and everyone else around me.
