After hearing the death of Anne Frank, Miep Gies gave Otto Frank his daughter's legend: Anne's diary, a red checkered book primarily used for autographs.
Soon after the diary's first publication, Peter van Pels died of health issues from when he was in Mauthausen.
"Peter, Peter," Otto, shook the limp young man. Otto's excitement soon turned to sorrow after he checked for a pulse. Peter was dead.
And, due to being so weak, Victoria van Pels died in the hospital right before Peter and Otto came to take her home.
"I'm sorry, sir, she's dead." The same doctor who told them about Anne said. "Died this morning." Victoria and her father were buried right next to Anne's grave.
It was a shame to see the wonderful baby die only a few days after her birth; the one and only daughter of Anne Frank.
