When they returned from the war, Nico usually sat alone in his cabin, looking himself away from the rest of the demigods. All of them tried to get him out, but to no effect. Hazel, who had been trying for an hour, punched the door with her fists in frustration and slid down to the floor outside. Nico opened the door to find his sister sobbing, and had to use all his willpower to close the door instead of comforting her, afraid that if he touched her, he would curse her life. After a while, Hazel got up and left...but little did she know that Nico had been on the other side of the door, tears flowing down his face, every drop mirroring hers
