The first time Nico liked a girl was at the start of eighth grade, when she'd attracted his attention with her Avenged Sevenfold t shirt. She sat at the very back and gave everyone a deceitful glare, one that Nico found attractive. He finally has the guts to ask her out to the movies, relieved when she said yes.
Kronos saw the girl as one of Nico di Angelo's vulnerabilities and held her at gunpoint, using her as bait. He eagerly made a deal with the son of Hades; If he fought on the Titan's side, his girlfriend wouldn't have to suffer.
That was when Nico made one of the hardest decisions of his life. He couldn't let the whole world down all because of a personal relationship. He said no.
The girl with the beautiful deceitful glare and Avenged Sevenfold t shirt was gone. Mortals thought she died in a car crash, thought her body was never found...
But Nico knew the real reason.
