While in New Rome, Percy came across an aspiring writer. Hoping to help him out, Percy started telling the man al the adventures he had with Annabeth. He asked him if he could promise to someday write a story about the Son of Poseidon, mostly as a joke, but the man kept his word.
On June 28, 2005, Rick Riordan published The Lightning Thief- Not one forgetting the promise he made to Percy Jackson.
