Chapter Two:

20 very interesting minutes later...

I laughed as Zeph clumsily horsed around with Kyle. Riley, Ethan, and I watched on with amusement as they started to argue over who got the last bagel.

I was about to go break them up and tell them to split it when suddenly an alarm blared.

We all froze, it was the energon alert. Which meant Decepticons.

My breathing instantly became short, and labored and I felt my heart beat spike when a dark shadow loomed over me.

I instinctively curled up in a fetal position as the others tried to move me.

I heard them shouting but it was too late, I knew I was already in a panic attack. I was having violent flashbacks to Chicago and as I tried to fight them I felt myself being lifted into the air, hot tears streamed down my face as the flashbacks got stronger.

Suddenly I was held protectively yet gently against warm metal and I heard a consistent thrumming. This relaxed me enough to coax me out of my panic attack and allow me to push away the flash backs.

I slowly opened my eyes and dared to look up at who or what was carrying me.

My breath caught but then I sighed at the recognition of the cybertronian's insignia, Autobot.

"I've got you, there is nothing to be scared of." The mech spoke in a comforting tone.

Then it struck me, I recognized that voice.... "Get the girl out of here! She needs medical attention now!" The mech's voice rang through my head as I recalled what he had said in Chicago.

"My friends.... Where are they?" I asked worriedly as I pressed myself closer to him to reassure myself that I was safe.

"They are safe with Optimus Prime." He said as he pointed to the familiar truck driving just ahead of us.

I nodded and looked up at him, tilting my head to the side. So many questions I wanted to ask him; Did he remember me? What is his name?

"What is your name?" I asked growing comfortable with him, which in the back of my mind was kind of weird considering my past.

"My name is Sideswipe, I'm your guardian." He answered with a bit of protectiveness in his voice

"Good to know... Thank you, Sides." I said with a sad smirk.

"For what?" He asked me, curious.

"Back in Chicago, you saved my life. I would have never left my parents and sisters remains had you not seen me. I would probably be dead right now... so thank you for seeing me." I explained tearfully as I curled up comfortably against his chest.

"I didn't think you would remember...." He trailed off in shock as he gazed down at me.

I heard him, but what I didn't realize was that shortly after, I fell asleep.

And for once, since Chicago, I slept without any nightmares or flashbacks. I'll have to thank Sides again later.

However, I'm still surprised how comfortable he makes me.
