Rose's POV
I made it to the roof and a wave of the cool night air hit my face. I made my way over to the ledge, and leaned against it. Looking over the quiet city of Paris I tried to let all of my worries fade away. Eventually I sat down of the roof and fiddled with my hands, just thinking about life. "Why is life so complicated?" I murmured to myself. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I felt like I was being watched. "Hello? Is anyone out here?" I stood and called out. With a sigh, I gave up and turned to face the city once more. The feeling came back so I called out once again "Who's out here?" I groaned in frustration and instead called out "Phantom is that you?"
"No, no it's not" he replied. "Sure it's not" I said while rolling my eyes and placing my hands on my hips. "Are you stalking me or something?"
"No. Why would I?"
"I don't know, maybe because you're the Opera Ghost?" He just laughed "why are you laughing??"
"Why would you assume I'm stalking you? I merely came out here to clear my head. Is that a crime? I would think not assuming you were out here to do the same."
"You're right. I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions. Goodnight Monsieur" with that I left him standing in the shadows.
** the next day**
The opening night for Il Muto is in 2 weeks! It's crazy to think that we will be performing soon. Meg, Christine, and I are on our way to our last rehearsal before everyone comes together and we practice the entire Opera. We practice different scenes, then the entire Opera, then there are dress rehearsals. I'm so excited!
** 2 weeks later:Opening night**
Christine POV
"You'll be fine Christine! Just do your best. Meg and I believe in you." Rose always knows how to cheer me up. I said goodbye and went on stage.
"Poor fool he makes me laugh!" Carlotta and I continued acting until a booming voice was heard throughout the entire room.
"Did I not instruct that Box 5 was to be kept empty?!" I looked over to the Box to find Raoul and the managers sitting there. "He's here the phantom of the opera" Meg muttered "it's him" I stated, shocked and scared. When Carlotta heard me she told me to be quiet and called me a toad. "A toad, madame? Perhaps it is you, who are the toad". He was right! When she sung she ended up croaking like a toad! I glanced at Meg and Rose and saw that they were trying not to laugh while I was still petrified.
" we apologize! The opera will continue in ten minutes when Christine Daaè will play the role of the countess. In the meantime, we'd like to present the ballet from.. uh.. Act 3!" With that I run off stage and go to my dressing room to change. I came out when I heard screaming to find Joseph Buquet's body hanging from the flys. I spot Raoul and grab him and we run to the roof together. He kept asking me why I brought him to the roof but I could only think of not going back for fear of his life and being terrified of the person I once called my Angel of Music. It was like a living nightmare, haunting me, making me fear everything. I tried to tell Raoul everything, but he just wouldn't believe me! He tried to comfort me by telling me it was all a dream and to stop talking about it. I listened as he told me he would keep me safe and to forget my fears. In return I asked him to love me every moment of the day. I talked of freedom, and only wanting the light of day. We stood there on the roof professing our love to each other. By the end of our conversation, Raoul and I were engaged.
Erik's POV
I tried to suppress my tears as Christine confessed her love to that fop. I can't believe she betrayed me! After all I did for her. After I tutored her song. Of course the boy would love her after he heard her voice! How could I have been so stupid? She is going to regret denying me and getting engaged. Just you wait, my precious Christine.
