Chapter Twenty - Seven: Love | ✔
February 14, 2019, ~ Nine Months and Thirteen Days
"I hope you like this place," Victoria says as we exit her Mercedes Benz.
The last few weeks in the home had been filled with nothing but silence. Ricardo wouldn't look my way, not even the occasional side glance. Victoria, on the other hand, had gotten significantly closer to me this past couple of weeks, "I hope so too." I huff as we look through the menu containing so many greasy foods, just looking at it gave me heartburn. We quickly order my meal after Victoria and the conversation begins.
"So you must be wondering why I brought you here." She spoke, elbow on the table as she looked at me, her head rested on her fist.
"Not really, food is food."
"Well it's not just food, it's about our children now and us."
Children. Little people, that are going to be a piece of us, "Do you think you're ready? Ready to have your own little person?" I ask, placing my arms underneath my chin.
She smiles, "I haven't been asked that yet, actually, no one cares," Her smile drops, "I don't think I'm ready to have my own little person yet. I'm not ready for all the shit that comes with being a girl, the periods, the mood swings, pregnancy, heartbreaks."
"A baby girl? A little you?" I urge trying to get her to just imagine it as I have, amusement now played on my face.
"Yeah, I am totally not looking forward to that. I know who I am, and this is not something I'm ready for," Her face showed it all, she was about to break and she was holding back. I slid to her side of the booth as she began, "I hate this Rosa. I hate this, and I hate myself."
She sobs as I rub her back and the waitress places our food in front of us, "Is she okay?"
I just give her an eye and she turns away not asking any further questions, "Vicky what's wrong? You're such a strong girl I've never seen you like this."
She reaches up wiping her tears away, "No I'm a bitch Rosalynna. I'm a bitch who is going to pass her bitchy characteristics to her daughter."
"I don't think that's how that works. I mean she may be a little bit of a bitch she may be rude, she may say some fucked up shit at times but she will love the fuck out of you woman. She will love you because there is no greater love than the one you have with your daughter."
"She'll love me?" She asks softly, a tiny grin now working its way onto her face, "But it will be my luck for her to act like me."
"Because it will test you as a mother, " I joke, "and you'll see what the hell Ricardo and I go through with you."
"Well, you don't have to worry about that anymore, no more drama from me."
"Yeah right."
"No, I'm serious. Doing all the extra stuff was exhausting, and now I have to think of Weston."
