The Black Eyed Cat:Kaneki X Reader

Chapter 1

"Amber! Welcome." I stepped into the small cafe where I worked and was greeted by my manager.

"Good afternoon Mr. Yoshimura." I wave to him as I go behind the back of the cafe. I set my stuff down in the lounge and put on my apron.

"What am I working today?" I ask him as he continues to wipe down some glasses. "Waiting tables with Touka." He said with a smile.

I nodded back to him as I grab a note pad from under the counter. I began to take orders and hand them over to Ms. Irimi.

Halfway through my shift, Touka comes up to me flustered. "Hey Amber do you think you could take those two at that table?" She asks.

"I...guess?" I shrug and she walks off. I sigh as I walk over to the table Touka was talking about.

"What can I get you two guys for today?" I ask as I grab my pen. "How about your name... and probably number."

A guy with orange hair said with a smirk. Meanwhile, his friend was in utter embarrassment.

"Hm...I could give you my number." I say as I put my notepad in my pocket. "Really?" The guy asks as he takes out his phone.

"Yup. It's xxx-not interested." I say as I grab my notepad again. He stood dumbfounded. I turn to his black haired friend.

"What can I get for you?" I ask. "J-Just a coffee with two sugars please." I scribble down his order and walk off.

I hand the order to Ms. Irimi and walk off to take down orders. And just like that, it was around 9:00 pm and I was done for the day.

I put away my apron and belongings before I made myself a quick cup coffee to go before I said my goodbyes.

I quickly walked home whilst sipping and enjoying my coffee. Once I got home, I emptied out my mailbox.

I changed out of my clothes and into my pajamas before I stared to go through my mail.

As I was looking through it, I saw that the mailman had accidentally placed my neighbors piece of mail in mine.

I turn to my phone and saw the time. Would he still be up? Of course he would. I got a jacket and put some slip on shoes on.

I walked over to his house and rang the doorbell. I got no response as the wind got more strong.

Finally the door opened up and I was able to see my neighbor. "Oh, Amber. Did you need something?" He asks.

Before I answer, the wind grows stronger as his door accidentally swings and almost hits me in the face.

"I'm so sorry about that. Come in." He insists. "Oh no it's fine. I just needed to give this to you." I say as I hand him his mail.

"Thank you so much. I was looking for this." He says. "No problem." I say as I turn to leave. I sigh as I open the door to my home.

I lay down on the couch as I scroll on my phone. Geez. This is pretty boring. I get up and head to bed.

Even if I know that I can't sleep well. I have to get up early and get to school. Although I had a dreamless sleep, it was better than having no sleep.

I got up early and got dressed. The wind outside looked like it was going crazy so I put on a fuzzy coat with jeans and put my hair in a ponytail so it wouldn't get in the way.

I started to make some coffee but I realized that I had made a bit too much... like always I guess I'll give this to him.

I got everything I needed and locked up my house. I walked over to his house and knocked. He opened the door while fixing his tie.

"Sorry to bother you. But as you probably would have guessed, I made too much coffee again." I say.

"Well thank you Amber." He says as he takes the cup. He takes a sip and he closes his eyes in delight.

"Well you certainly make a real nice cup of coffee." He says. "Well that's what I do best Koutarou." I say.

"I should get going. You have a nice day." I say as I walk off. I walked in silence for a while until I reached my school.

Kamii University. I take a look at my phone and see I still have a bit of time left so I go to the library to check out some books and then head to class.

I'm a English Literature major so I basically have to live in the library. Don't ask me why I chose to major in that, I don't even know myself.

The day passed by slowly ad I seemed very out of focus. While walking home, my stomach started to growl.

"Not again..." I mumble to myself as I clutched my hungry stomach. I shake my head as I quickly go home and change into my uniform for Anteiku.

I quickly went out the door and walked slowly to Anteiku. Once I opened the door, I was greeted by everyone but I kept my face down as I went into the back.

"Amber, what are you doing back here?" Touka asks as she walks out from upstairs. "I'm hungry." I say as I sat myself down.

"Oh. I'll be right back." I sigh as she comes back in with package wrapped up in a brown bag.

"Thanks Touka." I say as she nods. "I should leave you alone. I'll tell everyone not to come back here so you can have privacy."

She walks off and I open the package. I sigh as I begin to eat the flesh. Slowly, I began to feel more sane and calm as I ate.

I threw away the bag after I was done and washed my face. It was a good thing that I ate early.

It wouldn't have been good if I starved for to long. I put on my apron and walked out of the lounge, ready for work.
