Mine

Recently

I grab the book I bought from the hospital today and walk upstairs. Dom, should be getting them out of the shower by now. I turn the corner and go to our room. Ally is trying to get up the bed and I hear Dom telling Toby to brush his teeth. I get up behind Allyson and pick her up helping her up.

"Momma!" She grabs a hold of me and huggs me tight." I missed you!"

"Momma!" Toby runs towards me and makes me fall. I ruffle his hair, and hug him tight.

"How'd it go?" I look up and see Dom. I give him a weak smile and look at them.

"Momma brought a book." I hold it up and they grab for it." No. Laydown." They get up and lay down.

"Once upon a time, a little dragon was found by a woman. The woman took it in and raised it as her own." I continued the story tilled they fell asleep. I have Dom help me move them to their rooms and we go back to ours.

He pulls me into him and hugs me tight. I collapse in his arms and let him take over. A week without any of them is enough.

"How'd it go?" He looks down at me and I look down.

"They said I can try again but its dangerous." He kisses my head and I feel a tear fall down.

"How about the cancer?" A smile comes across my face and tears start going down.

"It's gone." He smiles big like the time he saw me and Ally alive. He picks me up and starts kissing me.

He lays me on the bed, and hovers over me. He stops kissing me because he's smiling.

"God, I'm so glad its gone." He lays next to me and pulls me closer to him. "Forget another child, we got two sweet ones."

I breathe in his scent and cry softly. Ben died when Toby was two and Allyson was three months along with me. Dom was right there supporting me and helping me get better. Toby  and Allyson knows his father was wonderful and loved him.

I remember the day I got pregnant with Allyson. The doctor told me it was going to be a hard pregnancy and I might not even survive if I gave birth. Dom knew that the more I had the greater the risk. But I wanted to make him happy. We had three miscarriages and one stillbirth. After that we found cancer in me. We haven't told the kids because its to much for them.

"Ellie, your thinking to much again." I smile and turn to look at him.

"Go get my bag from downstairs." He rolls his eyes and goes out the room.

I get up and take a shower. Once I get out I look at my self and grab scissors. I cut my hair just below my shoulders. I grab the blow dryer and dry my hair. I look at my hair and realize how much curly it got ove the last years. I step out of the bathroom and put some clothes on and I see Dom smiling.

"Why do you have a pregnancy test in here?" I realize I still had that from the last one.

"I um forgot it was in there." He nods and I sit down. I grab the wonder woman movie out of my bag and put it in the dvd player. He chuckles and moves me closer to him. Not even halfway into the movie I fell asleep.
